Chapter 1: An Encounter
Maka's POV
"Another beautiful day." Liz and I are walking to school with our duffel bags full of our costumes, textbooks, and gym clothes. The school is only a 5 minute walk from where we live but we sometimes leave at different times to walk with different people. Today is the day I walk with Liz.
"Man I can't believe this." Liz says with a bit of annoyance in her voice.
"What can't you believe?" I say curiously.
"That we don't have any romance in our lives what so ever. I know we have a ton of fans and all but I want to fall in love with someone." She states with a bit of sadness and anger in her voice.
"Not everyone is as lucky as Kim and Ox, you know. I would be nice though to have someone to love and to protect you." I say while walking around a corner only to find out I run into someone.
"I am so sorry about that." I bow in apology.
"No I should be sorry. I wasn't looking where I was walking at all." The boy says. I look up and see it is Death the Kid.
"Why are you apologizing? I was the one that bumped into you." I look into his gold eyes that are gentle and look apologetic.
"I…I…I am sorry" I turn and run to the school by a different route. Why was my heart beating fast back there? Am I falling for him or something? No it can't be that. Our groups are sworn enemies. But he was kind to me. Why?
Death the Kid's POV
Why is my heart acting like this? But she is a beauty. She even apologized before I even had the chance to apologize. Dammit. Am I falling for her? I am walking to school when I run into the guys. Maybe I will ask them about it. "Hey guys."
"Yo, you sure seem odd this morning. Did you see a hot chick?" Soul says with a smirk.
"All girls are in love with me for I am a GOD! Sorry Kid but all of them love me and not you." Black*star says with his loud and annoying voice.
"Actually, I wanted to ask you guys about who I ran into this morning. She had 2 pigtails, dirty blonde hair, and a pair of beautiful green eyes. You guys know anything about her?"
"Dude, that was Maka Albarn, she is the leader of our rival group "White Lillies". You know that it is against the rules to fall for a member of that group." Soul says with a menacing look on his face.
