Will and Emma were getting ready for the Lima fireworks and it was Sophia's first time ever seeing fireworks. Sophia was turning two next month and last year the fireworks were canceled due to dry conditions.
Emma was getting a picnic basket ready for night and packing up things for Sophia, and a pair of headphones for Sophia's ear incase the fireworks are too loud. Will was getting Sophia dressed for the night and when he finished he brought her out to show Emma.
"Very cute Will" Emma laughed at the sight of Sophia in a crazy looking red, white and blue outfit. She had flag sunglasses, red,white and blue shirt and pants and a party hat on her head.
"I think i did good picking out her outfit"
Emma started to laugh "At least she wont remember"
Will playfully gave her the look with a smile on his face
After Will and Emma finished getting ready they packed up the car and headed over to the school where the fireworks were. Emma couldnt wait to see how Sophia would react to the fireworks.
The sky was slowly getting darker and the football field was getting crowded, Will and Emma found a open spot on the field and Will opened the basket and laid the blanket out for them to sit on.
"Sophia remember your going to see fireworks tonight" Will said to Sophia "And remember what sound they make"
"Boom!" Sophia squealed
"Thats right they go boom" Will chuckled
Emma and Will sat in each others arms cuddling while Sophia was playing with her toys, while they were waiting for the fireworks to start. In about 30 minutes they started and Sophia wasn't really liking it. Sophia had a scared look on her face and looked like she was going to start crying "Mommy!" Sophia screamed and then ran over to Emma's arms. Emma cradled her and rubbed her back trying to calm her down.
"Those are the fireworks that we talked about, there supposed to make that noise"
"They are" Sophia said with a surprised look on her face
"Yeah they are, are they too loud for you?"
Sophia nodded and Emma pulled out the ear plugs for Sophia's ears after Emma put those on her she started to enjoy the fireworks. She was staring at them in the sky with her little mouth wide open since she was in awe of them.
"Pretty mommy" Sophia said as she pointed at the sky
"Yes there very pretty" Emma said as she hugged Sophia
"Pretty" Sophia said again but this time she pointed at Emma
"Yes Sophia mommy is very pretty" Will chimed in
Emma lovingly looked at Will
"But your much prettier then the fireworks" Will smiled
"Oh Will" Emma said as she rested her head on Will's shoulder.
Will, Emma and Sophia were enjoying the fireworks together and it was even more special knowing that this was Sophia's first time experiencing fireworks.
