Jack Bolton was never really much of a dancer. It wasn't that he couldn't... he just would rather play basketball.
He went to the school dances, stood along the wall with the rest of the basketball team and usually ended up taking over one of the classrooms to talk about new plays for the next big game.
He danced at his wedding – and he would always give Lucille a spin around the dining room if she asked – but he just didn't dance.
And then there was Sophie.
Sophia Lucille Bolton could always get him to dance.
She was his princess.

Danforth always prided himself on sticking to his principles.
Chad Danforth always prided himself on sticking to his principles. In High School, he was for basketball, not dancing. Yet, he managed to find himself trying out for the school play and – odd as it was – dancing.
He wouldn't admit he liked it... slightly... but, as time went on, Chad's principles changed. Nowadays, he didn't mind dancing so much.
Especially when he had the right dance partner.
When the clock struck seven at the Bolton's Christmas party, he was spinning around the room with five-year-old Sophie in his arms.
At the stroke of midnight, she was asleep on his shoulder.
