Story:
L sat next to Watari, not saying a word. He was feeling very low. He felt like he was being ignored. His appetite was getting smaller and smaller and he found he was no longer interested in eating sugary things or talking to anyone.
He didn't know why he felt so low but he did know there was this gaping hole in his heart that needed to be filled. He just didn't know how. He had been alone all his life so there was never anyone there to guide him and keep him safe. He had to get through life alone and unloved.
But what was love? L didn't know this for he had never been shown or given love. That was a completely foreign thing to him.
Watari looked over at his adopted son with worried eyes. He could feel the sadness radiating off L and wanted to help him but he knew what L needed, he could not give.
L sighed and got up, walking out the room leaving the investigation team confused. They turned to Watari for an explanation but he shook his head. He would not say anything unless L wished him to.
L sat on his bed, head buried in his knees as tears fell thick and fast. He hated crying, when living in the orphanage he had been teased so badly for it.
He then heard the door open and saw Light walking in with a small smile on his face. He walked over and sat next to him.
"So do you want to tell me what has got the great detective so upset?" he asked softly rubbing his back.
L sighed and rested his head on Light's shoulder. "I feel like there is something I am missing. There is a great hole and I can't understand what it is" he said placing his hand over his heart.
Light felt awful for him. He knew that pain. He suffered it himself.
Then suddenly he had an idea. He wrapped his arm more around L and pulled him into his arms and placed a soft kiss on his lips.
L was stunned but there was something to that kiss. He started to kiss back resting his hands on Light's chest.
Light smiled and hugged him rubbing his back.
"Light?" L asked quietly.
"Can I fill the hole?" he asked.
L blushed and nodded and kissed him again.
