Jumping up and down, Poppy couldn't wait. James was coming back from visiting his parents today. She hadn't spoken to him for almost 2 weeks because his parents still didn't know James had changed her and that both of them had joined Daybreak. She had missed him.
Sitting on a chair in the kitchen next to the counter, Poppy twirled a cup in her hands waiting. She couldn't bear to look at the clock, because every time she did in the last few weeks, time seemed to go even more slowly.
Suddenly a pair of arms wrapped themselves around her waist. She turned her head and saw James standing there smiling. She turned around and jumped into his arms.
"Hey little dreamer, I guessed you've missed me," he smiled, holding her close. She nodded. He didn't know how much she had. He laughed softly. "I know how you feel, it's been the same for me," he whispered as he kissed her forehead.
She smiled and held herself close to him, not worrying about hurting him because they were both vampires. He put a hand under her chin and lifted it so he could look into her eyes.
"I love you, my little dreamer," he said before kissing her lips. She kissed him back, not needing words to tell him how she felt. He could feel it through their soulmate bond.
