The Snowball Fight

"Merlin's balls, you two have no idea how cold it is out there," James called, walking back into the warmth of the house and instantly placing himself right in front of the fireplace.

Lily looked up from her book and cup of hot tea and chuckled softly from her place on the couch. "Well you're the ones who decided to go out there and have a snowball fight," she rolled her eyes.

"Oh bugger off, Lily," Sirius grimaced, trying to shake as much snow as he could out of his soaking wet hair.

"Fancy a cup of tea Sirius? James?" Remus asked, coming out of the kitchen with two mugs in each hand and a far too pleased smirk on his face.

"Why do I get the feeling you two are enjoying our misery?" James asked, looking between Lily and Remus suspiciously.

"Whatever do you mean by that, James?" Lily asked as innocently as she could.

"Aw, come now Lily, I think we've teased them enough," Remus chuckled good-naturedly, handing both of the shivering, snow-covered men a mug.

"See? Remus is the nice one," Sirius gave Lily a scathing look that had her laughing all over again.

"Lils, it's not funny," James groaned, giving his wife a pleading look.

"Alright, alright," Lily relented after catching her breath. "No need to glare. You know I love you, James."

"Love you too Lils," James smiled, blowing her a kiss.

"Me too. Even if you are unnaturally cruel to us sometimes," Sirius said, giving her another one of his looks.

"Oh, come here," Lily patted the space on the couch next to her, and Sirius quickly forgot he was supposed to be angry at her as he took his place on the couch, curling up next to her and resting his head on her shoulder.

"I love you too, you know. Even when you do stupid things like go out in the snow without a jacket," Lily admonished, giving him a playful nudge.

"I didn't think it'd be that cold," Sirius retorted.

"That and you were trying to show James up again," Remus smiled, making himself comfortable on the ground next to the couch.

"Okay...maybe I was," Sirius admitted. "I did win though, in case anyone was interested in knowing."

"That's because I let you win," James replied with a scoff.

"Oh, you two are ridiculous, but I love both of you. You two Remus," Lily smiled, shaking her head and placing a kiss on Sirius's cheek.

"Love you guys too," Sirius smiled, happy to be back inside with his two husbands and wife.

"Same here," Remus smiled contentedly and rested his head on Sirius's legs.

"I love you all too," James smiled over at them from the fireplace.

They were all just one big happy family.
