Jackson is my original character, but I don't own CSI.
Happy Birthday Ted Danson!
Someone suggested I write a story where Jackson helps Mrs. Barbara celebrate D.B.'s birthday, so I thought I would. And I still have lots of great story ideas! Hope you all enjoy...and please review!
Jackson Sanders busily colored as Barbara prepared a cake. He knew today was very important - his Uncle D.B.'s birthday - and he wanted to color a card for him.
"Mrs. Barbara, did you know Uncle D.B. loves oatmeal raisin cookies?" Jackson asked as he finished his drawing.
Barbara smiled warmly. "I did, and I made a fresh batch for him...but you can have some too."
Jacksgiggled. Just then, he heard two cars pull into the driveway. Jackson jumped off his chair. "He home! He home! An' here my daddy!"
Greg and D.B. came in and Jackson rushed to them. "Daddy! Uncle D.B.!"
"Hey!" D.B. said with a warm smile. He smiled as Jackson hugged his daddy.
Greg glanced at the paper in Jackson's hand. "What have you been working on, Jacks?"
Jackson giggled. "It a birthday present."
D.B. raised his eyebrows as Barbara came in with a plate of cookies. "Happy birthday, honey!"
"Happy birthday boss," Greg said with a warm smile. Jackson smiled and shouted, "Happy birthday!"
D.B. laughed softly. "Oh, thank you!"
Jackson gave D.B. his drawing. "Look it! I made dis for you!"
D.B. smiled as he looked at all the colors and shapes. "Wow! Look at this, Jackson!"
"Here's us with Mrs. Barbara an' daddy!" Jackson said as he pointed to his drawing. "We went to the park an' played with Scruffy! An' Sam an' Hank were there, too! An' here Katie an' her mommy an' daddy. An' here Charlie when he won a basketball game! We like to play together, an' he help me try to get the ball in da net! An' here Uncle Nicky an' Aunt Sara an' everybody! An' here you an' me having cookies an' cocoa!"
D.B. smiled warmly as he looked at Jackson's drawing. He did miss his family in Seattle, but loved his family in Vegas. And Jackson always made everything a bit happier. "Jackson, this is wonderful. Thank you so much."
"You welcome!" Jackson said as he hugged D.B.
And we made your favorite, " Barbara said.
Jackson smiled widely. "Yeah! Mrs. Barbara let me help her, an' I put extra raisins!" He squirmed out of D.B.'s arms and pulled him to the dining room table.
"Greg, I made extra pancakes for breakfast if you'd like some," Barbara said with a smile.
"Thank you," Greg said as he watched his son and boss happily chatting. They joined them at the table.
"Uncle D.B., I glad you here," Jackson said.
D.B. smiled warmly and lovingly took Barbara's hand. "Thank you both. I'm glad you both are here."
"Yeah!" Jackson said as Barbara whispered, "Love you."
Jackson hugged Greg. "I glad you here, too! I love you!"
"Love you, Jacks," Greg said.
After breakfast, Greg and Barbara joined D. Jackson for some cookies with hot cocoa. To D.B., it was a perfect way to end a birthday breakfast.
The End.
