"Hey, Jarvis," Tony said, picking up his tablet, "Any idea what Loki's up to?"
"Yes, sir. I believe he is currently in bed with Mr. Odinson. My sensors indicate that Mr. Silvertongue's heart rate is slightly elevated, and rhythmic sounds have been emanating from that room for several minutes."
Everyone in the common room froze.
"But..." Steve said after a long moment. His face was green. "They're...they're brothers."
"Adopted brothers," Bruce corrected automatically, but he too looked green, and not in a "I'm-about-to-Hulk" kind of way.
Only Natasha looked unfazed. Then again, Natasha had the best poker face of any of them, so maybe she was green on the inside too.
"Well," Tony tried, "They're both reas...con...adults anyway, and just because they totally grew up in the same dysfunctional family doesn't...Gah! I can't stand it, Jarvis, just give me visual."
"Tony!" Steve protested, but it was too late. Jarvis was already projecting the security feed from one of the guest bedrooms in the Tower.
Thor and Loki lay there, dressed in PJs and clearly asleep. Loki twitched and muttered something, and Thor gently pulled him closer. Loki's whimpering subsided. A nightmare? The "rhythmic sounds" were Thor's snoring as he slept. After a moment or two so that the Avengers could confirm what they'd seen, Jarvis shut the camera off.
Silence.
"I feel like I have a really dirty mind right now," Tony said.
"And you wanted to watch!" Steve said, sounding more appalled by that than by the 'brother' misunderstanding.
"Jarvis," Clint said shakily, "You are too much like Tony for your own good."
"Thank you, sir," the AI said.
He definitely sounded smug.
