Seventeen Reasons Bastila Does the Shopping for the Ebon Hawk
1. Carth Onasi may be a skilled soldier, but a bargain hunter or haggler he isn't (as evidenced by the outrageous amount of money he paid for that apartment on Taris, and the fact they were almost perpetually broke until Bastila took control of the finances).
2. Mission however, is an excellent haggler. But she is also the ultimate impulse buyer. She buys everything, in every color, and every flavor.
3. Canderous won't buy anything. He will stare at the shelves for an hour before deciding nothing is exactly what he wants.
4. Jolee will complain about carrying heavy packages at his age.
5. T3 does not have hands.
6. Revan has a tendency to help every poor soul along the way, not only coming back sans food, but completely broke as well.
7. Mission once scribbled an item bar on T3 to see if it would check out at the counter (it didn't).
8. Jolee will hum and/or sing along with the piped-in store music.
9. HK-47's 'gut' reaction to crowds is to "thin them out."
10. Zaalbar was once sent to retrieve some pastebread and vegetables. He ate them on the way back.
11. Revan came back with HK-47.
12. Mission came back with 18 new pazaak cards, a stuffed gizka, a selection of holiday greeting cards, a set of colored markers, two bags of sugar, nine different flavors of chewing gum, insole shock absorbers, the datapads of four sith patrol guards, a dictionary, a space heater, a handheld game console, a camera, six boxes of cookies, and datafiles for all the piped in store music.
13. HK-47 came back covered in blood, with an elderly woman's handbag lodged in his circuits.
14. Canderous came back with a mandalorian blaster rifle and more grenades than they had room for.
15. Bastila came back with the food.
16. Bastila can sometimes get college student discounts at stores that offer them.
17. But the primary reason Bastila does the shopping is that she's the only one who knows exactly what goes into her stir fry. She learned to cook from her mother, and Helena made a mean stir fry. Bastila even makes sure to put little garnishes on the side exactly the way her mother did. Those who stayed for dinner with Helena don't say anything if they notice.
