Answered, Found, Opened
The question gnawed
a hole in his heart
Not Knowing
Cost a piece of himself.
He took the painful question
To everyone he knew
To strangers on the street
Asking, asking.
Until the hole that
had been gnawed
Was filled with pleasant knowledge
The disguised answer
Revealed.
...
The empty spot
Across the table
Filled her fearful heart
Cost a piece of herself
The poor young mother
Went to search the streets
Sought through all the corners
Seeking, seeking.
Until the worry
That'd been biting her heart
Filled back up, spilling over
Embracing her lost that had been
Found.
...
Hunger consumed
The stomach of
a small little child
Costing his life.
He dragged his tiny feet
Up to every door
Up to every home
Knocking, knocking.
Until one let him in
Filled his empty stomach
Filled his starved heart
Letting the door
Open.
...
The ignorant man,
The worried mother,
The starved child
Asked, sought, knocked.
And was
Answered,
Found,
Let inside.
It'll be answered, found and opened
For all who
Ask, seek, knock.
