Holy Crapolla. I wrote this two years ago and it is trash. Which is why I'm surprised so many of you actually liked this. I give you a new edited version! It has about 1,100 more words than the first version! Why did it take me so long to rewrite this? Well a few days ago I got a request to write a continuation for this fic. So to get inspired, I decided to reread this. And I was horrified. So as an apology, I give you guys this chapter!

Note: English is still not my first language, and I'm pretty sure there are a lot of grammatical errors in this still... so I'm sorry in advance.

Song: Cupid's Chokehold- Gym Class Hero's

Disclaimer: I do not own Hetalia or the Song referenced to in this fic.

Cupid's Chokehold 2.0

Ludwig Beilschmidt looked up from his book as he heard someone make their way towards the room he found himself in. He wasn't expecting anyone to be home, seeing as his father had a business meeting to run and his older brother was off on tour. Though, by the sound of the steps, he could tell the hurried paces weren't from his father and was actually a bit surprised to see his older brother, Gilbert, grinning like a madman as he made his dramatically loud entrance.

"Hallo Bruder dearest!" Gilbert cried as he wrapped his arms around his brother's head after he dropped his suitcase in the doorway. "No need to be sad, the awesomeness has returned!"

Ludwig rolled his eyes and sighed as he tried to remove the pale arms from around him. Gilbert should still be on tour, what was he doing back so soon?

"Hallo Gilbert." He responded once he was let go of. "We weren't expecting you back until next month. What are you doing back?"

The young blonde removed his reading glasses as the older albino brother got comfortable on the couch near his brother's armchair. Ludwig grimaced as he heard his brothers joints pop as he stretched lazily. He really needed to invest in a better tour bus…

"I missed Birdie." Gilbert smiled proudly. It had been a while since the two had spoken about girlfriends.

Madeline Williams, also deemed as 'Birdie' by Gilbert, was the albino's current girlfriend. This was the longest relationship the young musician had ever been in. Madeline was a year younger than Gilbert. The albino had met the shy Canadian through her cousin Francis, one of the members in The Bad Touch Trio, during an after party for their first cross-country tour and had really hit it off. Obviously they had started off as friends at first, just texting whenever they found the time. Then once a week. Then once a day. Then when Gilbert's Ex-Girlfriend dumped him, Madeline was there to patch his heart up again.

Ludwig sighed. He liked Madeline, he really did, she was a sweet girl and she made his brother happy. But he was worried about his brother messing things up again and he was starting to feel like a bad joke to the young German. The elder proclaimed Prussian, sighed as well. He knew what his brother was trying to say without having to ask. Before Madeline, Ludwig had been the one to have to try to patch Gilbert back up again. He didn't want to have to go through that again after so long.

"Ja, ja. I know it sounds so old Luddy, but I swear Cupid's got me in a chokehold. And… this time, I'm giving in." He smiled gently as he saw his brothers face go into shock. "My white flag is waving."

"How do you know she's the one?" Ludwig asked gently.

"Do you have something against Birdie? 'Cause she's just as awes-"

"Nein, Burder, I don't. But you said that about the last one…"

Gilbert only smiled a bit sadly at the memory. "She make me pancakes, and adds the Alka Seltzer when my tummy aches. If that ain't love, then I don't know what love is."

Ludwig pinched the bridge of his nose. He had no idea where his brother was trying to go with that, but he waited patiently for the rest.

"We even have a secret handshake…" Gilbert laughed.

"It's not the one you tried to teach me when I was a kid, is it?" Gilbert childishly stuck his tongue out at his brother. The handshake he had tried to teach Ludwig was awesome! It wasn't his fault that Ludwig wasn't awesome enough to remember it.

"And she loves the music that my bad makes. Luddy, if I had to choose her over the sun, well I'd be one nocturnal sun of a gun."

Ludwig was in awe. Gilbert had never been so honest when it came about his relationships or feelings, and he sounded genuinely happy. He smiled, something that was strangely rare for the young German to do; he had never said it out loud before, but he had always looked up to his brother and every now and then Gilbert does or says something that makes him look up to him even more.

"Not much of a girlfriend though, I never seem to get a lot." Gilbert joked as he stood up to get his things and made his way out of the room.

"Gilbert!" cried a red-faced Ludwig as his brother hissed his signature laugh from the top of the stairs of their house. Ludwig heard a door close and after he managed to fight away his blush, he smiled once more and placed his reading glasses back on. At least things weren't going to be so quiet anymore.

Romulus Vargas had also lost most of his family to an accident. At a young age, he was only one left his twin granddaughters had left. Lovina and Feliciana were the same age as young Ludwig when they got the news about the Belischmidt's misfortune. Romulus became like a second father figure to the young Belischmidt's. Their mother had passed after Ludwig's 4th birthday where both she and Ludwig had gotten into a car accident. While Ludwig made it out alive, along with some temporary memory loss and a few broken ribs, their mother had gone into a coma and never woke up. Romulus was there to try and help young Aldrich Beilschmidt raise his children while he tried to put himself back together when they weren't looking. So it wasn't surprising when the two had come out to their families as a couple many years later.

"Nonno! What the hell do you think you're doing?" Asked an outraged Lovina in her red and yellow bikini as she came towards the grill. "If you keep spacing out you're going to burn the fucking meat!"

"Really Romulus," sighed Aldrich as he approached them with two bottles of ice-cold beers in each hand. He set one down near the idiotic Italian and set the others on the table where they could easily watch Ludwig, Antonio, and Feliciana run around the yard in their bathing suits. "I leave you alone for less than five minutes and you're already trying to burn down my yard."

Lovina replaced the almost black meat with fresh slices and gave the tongs to her grandfather's lover, no longer trusting Romulus with the food. Her husband, Antonio, had sneaked around her while she realized her spot had been taken by one of the dogs and had managed to drown her under a bucket of cool water. The glare he received was enough of a warning to send him running in a panic as she followed behind him with the water gun she had picked up as she ran past the bucket full of water balloons and other water toys.

"Where's your oldest?" Romulus asked Aldrich as he laughed at how much fun the young adults were having.

"Knowing him? Probably looking for the biggest water gun we own." He sighed. There was a reason he had hidden it.

Sure enough as soon as he had said that, Gilbert stormed out of the house in nothing but a pair of Prussian flag patterned swim shorts with a very large water gun in his hand. Well, water cannon was more like it…

After what seemed like hours, the group of soaking young adults were called over to eat by a very annoyed Aldrich. Somehow the older Germanic man had managed to get caught in the middle of Gilbert and Antonio's water war.

"Hey Albino-Potato, where's Birdie?" Lovina managed to ask around a mouth full of a gilled tomato as she sat down almost on top of her husband. Madeline and Lovina had been best friends since kindergarten after Maddie had shared her toy teddy bear with the scary new transfer student that refused to come out of the toy house in the middle of the class room.

"She'll be here soon." He said as he practically inhaled his wurst. "She said she had to help Alfred move into Arthur's place."

"About time they decided to move in together." Commented Antonio. "Alfred was always spending most of his nights at Arthur's place anyway."

The group of adults laughed in agreement. The young American and the young Britt had a bad habit of watching scary movies together, 'casing the scared American to cling to Arthur until the Britt agreed to let him spend the night. Many of their friends knew this from past experiences with the two during their many sleepovers as children. For some reason, Alfred could only be calmed down by sleeping near Arthur. Everyone knew Arthur made Alfred watch scary videos on purpose to get him to spend the night.

"What about big brother Francis and Jeanne?" Asked Feliciana as she cuddled up to Ludwig, much to Lovina's annoyance.

"They'll be here a bit later as well." Ludwig answered with a blush as the youngest Italian pressed herself more against him. "Jeanne has an ultrasound appointment."

"I can't wait to see her bambino!" Cooed Feliciana. "I'm sure they'll be really cute! Don't you agree Luddy?"

"J-ja…"

"Are they all coming?" Romulus wondered as he poured some wine for himself. Lovina and Antonio immediately offered their glasses to him. With a sigh, he poured some in their cups as well.

"Ja! I thought it'd be awesome if we had more people over!" Gilbert announced with a large smile on his face.

"So Gilbert," Started Aldrich. "Who is Madeline to you?"

Gilbert knew that his brother had talked to their father about what they had talked about a few days ago, so it wasn't all that shocking to have his father asking how he truly felt about his girlfriend.

"I know it's been a while since we last talked about this, so I'll try not to talk fast 'cause I just get really excited when talking about my Birdie." He could feel his face heat up as his cheeks started to tint a bright pink.

The others had stopped eating and were now waiting for the young albino to continue. Gilbert took a deep breath before looking directly at Aldrich before he began to talk again.

"Dad, I think I may have found the one that'll make you way proud of me." Aldrich opened his mouth to say something, but Gilbert cut him off. "I know you're disappointed in me because I didn't take over the family business and decided I wanted to start a band.

"I know you heard the last song, about the one that didn't last long and dumped me for that prissy guy I'm forced to call a cousin." He nearly growled before he remembered that this wasn't about them and refocused on her. "But I promise that this one's different. I can tell by the way she says my name."

It was silent for a while as everyone took in what Gilbert had shared. Aldrich had yet to form a sentence where what he wanted to say didn't sound hurtful towards Gilbert. He had been a bit upset hat Gilbert didn't want to run the company, but he was extremely proud of Gilbert for following his dreams. He was about to say just that when someone's ringtone started blasting.

"Birdie!" Gilbert cooed as he answered his call. The others were still stunted into silence while Gilbert wrapped up his conversation. When he hung up, he found that everyone was still waiting for him to continue where he had left off.

"I love it when she calls my phone," he continued with newly found confidence. "She's got her very own ring tone. If that ain't love, then I don't know what love is." Antonio and Romulus nodded in agreement.

Aldrich and Ludwig shared a look before Gilbert continued. "I know that on long drives home, from tours and stuff, as soon as I arrive home and open the door she'll be back into my arms for sure."

There was a honk and some loud music blasting from the front of the house, and the others watched as Gilbert kissed Madeline hello as she and her twin brother walked through the back gate with Arthur. Aldrich didn't need anything else from his oldest son. He was already really proud of him.

To say that Gilbert was angry was an understatement. Madeline had finally taken the initiative and had asked Gilbert on a date, when they had run into Elizaveta on their way into the theater. Gilbert and Madeline had chosen to ignore her, but their attempts at being the better person where shot down when Elizaveta insulted the shy Canadian.

Madeline, not wanting to make a bigger scene, tried to pull Gilbert towards the door, but Gilbert was stronger than she was. The Hungarian and Prussian where already attracting a crowd with the amount of yelling they were doing.

"She's got that smile that could make the most senile annoying old man bite his tongue." Hissed a pissed off Albino as Elizaveta had finally listened to her date and had started to walk away.

"I'm not done!" He continued as Madeline once again urged him to enter with her. "She's got eyes comparable to the northern lights and it doesn't stop there."

Elizaveta shook in rage as her current boyfriend tried to sooth her. It had taken her a long time to get Gilbert to complement her at all, and here he was spilling them out easily for her. It was insulting.

"Man, I swear she's got porcelain skin, and compared to you she's a ten. She's even got her own song." Gilbert gloated. No matter how much Elizaveta had begged, he had never added any of the songs he wrote for her into any of The Bad Touch Trio's albums.

Eventually Elizaveta and Roderich started to make their way towards the exit, and Madeline had convinced Gilbert to let it go.

Or not. "She's got the cutest laugh I've ever heard and we can be on the phone not saying one word. And I still cherish every moment." Gilbert said proudly as he gave Madeline's hand a tender squeeze. "When I start to build my future, she's the main component. Call it dumb, call it luck, call it love, or whatever you call it. But everywhere I go I keep her picture in my wallet like here."

Elizaveta turned to see that Gilbert was pointing to his chest, and stormed off at the amount of love Gilbert was freely showing on his face as he brushed away the tears that slowly made their way down Madeline's blushing face. She took hold of Roderich and they walked away hand in hand. This time for good. They married a year later. Gilbert and Madeline never saw them after that.

"Take a look at my girlfriend, she's the only one I got." Sung the trio of friends with the widest of smiles on their faces.

"Ba ba da da!" Fans sung along from the sands and ground floor of The Bad Touch Trio's sold out concert hall.

"Not much of a girlfriend, I never seem to get a lot."

"Ba ba da da!" Madeline, Lovina, Jeanne, Feliciana, Ludwig, and Alfred all blushed from their places back stage. Romulus, Aldrich, and Arthur all sighed and pinched the bridge of their noses. The girls really should have paid attention when the guys had told them the name of the song they were going to play for an encore before heading off to go to the mall for an impromptu shopping spree across the street from the concert hall.

"Take a look at my girlfriend, she's the only one I got."

"Ba ba da da!"

"Not much of a girlfriend, I never seem to get a lot."

"Ba ba da da!" The cheers grew louder as the song ended and the trio took a final bow and the girls expected them to leave, when Gilbert asked for Madeline to join them on the stage.

There, in front of many screaming fans and their loved ones, Gilbert finally proposed to Madeline. She said yes.

For safety, the band and the production crew stayed back stage until security deemed the venue safe of no lingering fans, and gave them the go ahead for them to leave. As they left, Jeanne's water broke casing Francis to freak out and drive off like one of the Italian twins, towards the nearest hospital. Jeanne gave birth to a beautiful baby girl they named Michelle.
