Ch1-holy ears

"Yusuke! Get your team over to the barrier on the Makai side immediately!" a toddler yells over a communicator. Within seconds the spirit detectives find themselves falling through a portal and facing a horde of demons.
"Yusuke!" a female voice sounds behind them and they turn to find a girl with black hair and brown eyes sitting on the ground, hands inside the Makai barrier and an oni hacking away at a weakening barrier around her.
"Kagome!" the male tries to run to her but a horde of demons surrounds them and they're forced into battle. Kagome shuts her eyes as her small barrier falls and the oni raises his axe to strike her. The oni is suddenly tossed into the fray by a wind tornado.
"Kouga?"
"No. The names Gin" a red-haired demon with one horn, long elf ears and one protruding fang steps out of the wind tornado "but I'll be happy to protect such a pretty lass while you fix the barrier"
"... Um... Ok... Could you do me a favor?"
"absolutely"
"stay very still" she pulls a hand out of the Makai barrier and reaches up to gently tug on one of his ears. He moves to say something when a pulse in the air causes him to freeze, the hair on the back of his neck standing on end and a shiver going down his spine.
"Damn it Kagome!" Yusuke's voice calls back "stop sapping gin with your fetishes! We need him over here!"
"Thanks Gin" Kagome releases him "now everyone jump!" she slams her hand into the ground. A huge wave of holy power washes over the earth, purifying the hordes of demons before them instantly.
"Why the hell didn't you do that before?" Yusuke yells at her.
"I needed youki to feed the barrier to hold it long enough to do that! If you haven't noticed I'm connected to the damn thing!"
"You didn't need to fondle gin! You could have asked!"
"I did ask!"
"he had no idea what you were gonna do you brat!"
"Watch your mouth cuz! We're the same age!"
"I'm not afraid to let my demon side attack you!"
"I'm not afraid to purify your sorry ass!"
"...Yusuke's cousin eh?" gin pops up next to kurama.
"Yeah, she has a thing for tails... And ears..." kurama pats the wind demon on the shoulder "she came after me in the beginning because she found out I was a kitsune, but when she found Youko she left me. Apparently Youko pissed her off in the past"
"... So she likes my ears... What an interesting lass..."
