Memories

Nefertiti gracefully accepted the glass of wine from one of her servants. Even in her pain she did not lose her poise. Her father's voice filled her mind, "Never lose your poise, Nefertiti. No matter what. Even in the most trying times you must remain in control.

But her father's advice she would hear no more. Her father was dead. Dead by the hand of his lover, Ank-su-namun. But she was dead now too. Dead by her own hand. After she killed the pharaoh she took her own life. And Imotep got away….

But not for lone, Nefertiti reminded herself. But what good did that do her now? Her father, the pharaoh, was dead. She had sent the guards after the high priest but she had yet to hear any news.

Nefertiti threw the cup down with a clatter. Her servants looked up in surprise and shock. She dismissed them with a wave her hand, her bodyguards too. But her guards would not leave her be.

Nefertiti glared at the statue head of her father, "YOU HAD TO HAVE A SON!" she screamed. Her father had had a total of five wives, including Nefertiti's mother, and all he had gotten were two dead sons and a daughter. That's why he was going to marry Ank-su-namun. He needed a male heir.

The pharaoh's first and primary wife, Kiya, died in childbirth long before Nefertiti was born. The child, a son named Anen, died only days after he was born. The next three of the pharaoh's wives all died during a plague and bore him no children. His fifth wife, Nefertiti's mother, gave birth to two children before she died. The first being Nefertiti's brother, Smenkhkare, died of a disease five years ago. Leaving Nefertiti, two years younger than her brother, the only heir to the Egyptian throne.

Nefertiti wiped the image of her family tree form her mind. But it was all too hard. She was the last hope for her family. For their success. She pushed her long hair out of her eyes and flopped back on her back. She still remembered the day her father and introduced her to Ank-su-namun.

Flashback

Nefertiti was lounging in the palace pools when she saw her father coming up with an attractive Egyptian woman. One not of the highest statue, obviousily.

"Kakui!" She called to one of her servants.

Kakui hurried near her lady, "Yes Princess?"

"Who is that woman with my father?"

"Aye, I do not my lady."

Nefertiti waved her servant away as her father approached. "Father?"

The pharaoh smiled at his daughter, "Nefertiti this is Ank-su-namun. She will be my wife."

Nefertiti couldn't believe it. Yes it was common for men, especially royalty, to marry those much younger than them but Ank-su-namun was no more than a child practically

End Flashback

Nefertiti shook the memory from her head. There was a knock on her doors, "Aybrackismoka!" She cried. Come in.

It was the guards. "Your highness we have captured Imotep."

Nefertiti's eyes shot up and she sat up in bed, "And?"

"And we can assure you that he has been punished."

"How?" Nefertiti hissed. She hoped he had not gotten of easy.

The guard bowed before her, "We have placed a curse on him."

"CURSE!" She bellowed, "THAT'S IT?"

The guard shook his head fiercely, "No Princess, he is doomed for all eternity."

Nefertiti's mouth dropped. They couldn't have, could they? "CRASICAS BRACKUS YUPSIALTI HUBILUTRA CRACKEN!" She swore. "MORONS! What if someone awakens him?"

"They won't your highness. We will make sure of that."

"You had better." She hissed.
