I woke up my face streaked with sweat from a horrible dream. I got up from my warm bed of comfort to the cold, dark, and damp floor over to the window, which revealed something I didn't ever want to see. The window which I regret ever looking through I saw the fate of my village as it burned to the ground, I saw the iron dragons as to which I called them and at that moment I knew it wasn't a dream.

At the same moment my mother burst through the door of my room. She pulled a bag from my closet and stuffed my belongings and a half a loaf of bread.

"Talina get your coat and shoes on you have a long journey that awaits you." She said.

"Mom what's going on? Why is our village on fire?"

"There is no time for questions Talina. Just do as I say. We just have to leave."

I did as told. When we stepped out of our house, I then knew that my village in which I grew up in would be no more. My mother grabbed me by the hand and hoisted me onto our horse. She then hoisted herself behind me. My mother led the horse to the hills were she knew we would be somewhat safe from harms way.

When we got to the hills my mother jumped off the horse, looked me straight in the eye.

"Talina I want you to ride to the next town of Teradan."

"But mother that town is miles away, the fastest way there is through the land of dragons and I might get lost."

"Take any route you must just stay safe."

"But mother I don't want to leave you and go into the big world alone."

"Don't disobey me, Talina just do as your told."

I nodded grabbing the bag from her hand.

"Talina take this map and sword just in case."

I took it from her hand and attached the sword to my saddle and stored the map in my bag. I started to ride away but halted to a stop to tell my mother one last thing.

"Mother I love you and I'm afraid to leave you." She said with tears in her big blue eyes.

"I love you to sweetie. Talina no matter what happens remember that we'll be together always and you can look up at our star and I'll be with you."

I did not know what she meant but I was soon to figure it out. I gave her a final kiss goodbye and rode away knowing that would probably be the last time I would ever see her again. I knew that my town I always knew and cared about so much, the town of Galea, would be a place I would never want to return to again.
