Hannah Abbott entered the small hospital room. In the bed was a bony woman. She stared up at the ceiling.

"Hi, I'm Hannah Abbott, healer. Would you like to tell me what's happened?"

The woman did not move. Her cheeks were colorless. She had empty eyes. Several bruises.

"I got acid on my hands."

Hannah examined her hands carefully.

"How did this happen?" she asked.

"I opened a jar that contained acid…"

"You didn't know it contained acid?"

"No…"

Hannah looked at her. Her eyes were flickering.

She was lying.

"Are you being abused?"

She didn't answer.
