Chapter One: Team

The 28th World Tournament has come and gone. Krillin, Android 18, and Marron are back to their normal lives. Krillin is now a police officer in East City and Android 18 took on a part time job in a local clothing department store. Marron has been attending East High this year and has made quite the name for herself.

Marron is the star player on her unisex soccer team. After every game they celebrate their victory; praises are always given to Marron. Tonight's celebration is a big one; In two days they will face off against Orange Star High's team on their home turf as the last game in the season. The team once again have Marron's skills to thank for the victory.

Krillin "What's wrong, Marron"? (Krillin, Android 18, and Marron are walking home from the celebration).

Marron "(Sigh). I don't know. I guess I am just feeling a little guilty".

Krillin "About what"?

Marron "I have a clear advantage over the others in these games. I mean I love playing ball but growing up with everyone I did I come into these games with an obvious head start. I sometimes feel like it's not fair to everyone else".

Krillin "I see what you mean".

Android 18 "That's not your fault".

Marron "I know. Just feels wrong at times".

Android 18 "It's not wrong and you shouldn't feel guilty about it either. You love to play, and you should just have fun. Don't worry with the fairness of it".

Krillin "18 is right".

Marron "Thanks mom and dad. I will play the finals and lead my team to victory". (Marron felt a little better and excited for the game).

Marron's science teacher ran into the classroom filled with excitement. It's not surprising everyone is filled with school spirit looking forward to the game tomorrow night. The class soon finds out this isn't the cause of her excitement. She announced with enthusiasm about the first ever Casple Creators Competition created by Dr. Bulma.

It's a competition for young inventors around the world to show off their genius. The winner will get to intern under Dr. Bulma and Dr. Brief for a week. When she finished explaining everything about the competition she threw up a flyer made by casple corp. The flyer gave information under a picture with Dr. Bulma in the center posing in her scientist work uniform.

Dr. Bulma looked motivated in the picture with Bura dressed just like her sitting with beakers on her left; Dr. Brief standing to Bulma's right casually. The flyer also stated that the first round of three will be held six months from four days ago. All the kids ran up to see this flyer with the school boy genius pushing through to see it.

The boy genius in Marron's class is East City's favorite genius for this competition. His name is Kashu; he dresses in sweater vests, button down short sleeve shirts, dress pants, and tennis shoes. His short dark hair is shaggy, but his face is handsome. A loner that Marron has spoken very little with.

Kashu's is gleeful from the announcement until the teacher told the class that she was using the competition as a class assignment. The whole class booed the idea. What made it worse is the idea that she was putting them in groups of three. Everyone hopped either out loud or in thought to be with Kashu.

She has Kashu stay up front with her as she makes the rest sit down. She looked around the class before she chooses Marron and another girl, Hazel to be placed with Kashu. The disappointment from the other students is heard from outside the classroom. Hazel is the same age as Marron and Kashu but can pass for someone a year or two older.

Hazel is a chic dresser with long thick wavy eggplant purple hair and mint green eyes. Hazel is the youngest daughter to East City's richest family and the most popular girl in school along with her sisters. Marron never spoke with her but heard a lot about her.

Kashu didn't hide his displeasure by being put in a group. Marron, Kashu, and Hazel planned to meet at the café just off school grounds, but Hazel never showed. Not surprising since she doesn't do well in school. Marron isn't a genius, but she keeps her grades up.

Marron didn't have time to think about the science project since the game is about to start. She looked over at the bleachers and saw Krillin, Android 18, Gohan, Pan, Videl, and Chichi cheering and supporting her.

Pan "Yah…GO MARRON".

Orange Star kick started the game strong. They thought they was going to lead the game in the first half until Marron stole it from them. She came in even stronger establishing why is star of her team. Half time begins with East High in the lead.

From the faces on Orange Star's player they are not happy about the major turnaround. Marron spent her half time with her parents and the Son family that came. No one thought the next events would happen. Orange Star got so upset with Marron that she became a target. It became obvious after the first few tries to get Marron out of the game failed.

With only ten minutes left in the game they make another attempt to get Marron out of the game. This time it worked. One of the players came at Marron knocking her down so hard she couldn't get up. She got carried off the field with Chichi yelling at the other team and the referee.

Marron is benched for the first time with a sprained ankle. The older boy is kicked out of the rest of the game by the referee for wrongful conduct. Chichi made sure of that with her yelling. Krillin, Android 18, Pan, Gohan, Videl, and Chichi moved to be closer to Marron.

The game no longer appeared to be one-sided. With hard work and strong team work East City won the game. They celebrated together like always, but Marron left early to celebrate at Gohan's house. They planned their own celebration with Marron.

Hercule, Majin Buu, Bee, and Goten attended the celebration. Majin Buu healed Marron's injured leg and the fun began. Marron enjoyed this celebration much more than all the ones with her teammates. Now she will have a whole new team with this science project. The next day after school her and Kashu started working on their project.

Kashu sent Marron and Hazel the address to his lab. Marron walks in and shock covered her face. She looks around the lab with an enormous machine that covers most of it. Two regular size machine cages on opposite sides of the lab connected by a ceil high machine arch.

Kashu "Overwhelming isn't it". (He approaches Marron from in-between the arch and Marron shakes her head in agreement; still filled with wonder at the sight).

Marron "What is it"?

Kashu "A teleporter".

Marron "Teleporter"?

Kashu "Yeah, I've been working on it for the last four years. You get in the cage there and it will teleport you from one side to the other. It's still not ready yet".

Marron "Amazing". (She couldn't help but think Bulma would love to see this).

Kashu "You're done sightseeing; let's start work on our idea. I gathered the parts I believe we will need". (He walks Marron between the arch to a bunch of machine parts).

Marron assisted Kashu anyway he asked her to. Being on sport teams has taught Marron the importance of team work. That every team player has their strengths and weaknesses. Kashu is in this to win while everyone else is in it to get a grade. Marron knows this and would never hurt Kashu's chances of winning.

They worked together on this for weeks and began to develop a friendship. They never saw Hazel and counted her out entirely. Marron had her sport teammates and they acted like friends. However, Marron never felt like they were her friends. Not like the friendship she has with Trunks, Goten, Pan, and Bura. The friendship she is getting with Kashu is feeling like those she has with Trunks, Goten, Pan, and Bura.

One month into the project and doing homework together Marron and Kashu began to hangout like normal friends. Marron got invited to Kashu's home for dinner and vice versa. They are each other's first school friend. It is all going great.

While working on the science project they are getting a surprising visit from Hazel. She walks into the lab unamused by anything she sees.

Hazel "That huge thing isn't our project is it"?

Kashu "Ours? You haven't even been around. The project belongs to Marron and me".

Hazel "WHAT? NO. I need the grade. If I don't ace this I fail science".

Kashu "You should've thought of that before you were no help".

Marron "Hey, guys calm down". (They got into an argument and Marron stepped in to break it up). "Kashu, is there any way you are willing to include Hazel in this project"?

Kashu "Um… huh…". (Started thinking). "I will include Hazel if she will let me use her as a test subject".

Marron "That's a great idea".

Hazel "Whao… wait a minute here. What is it you want me to do"?

Kashu "I need someone to get in the cage, so I can teleport them to the other cage. I've done objects and it's worked fine; even small animals but I need a person to complete the experiment".

Marron "Cool. I will go in next".

Kashu "Thanks, Marron. What do you say Hazel"?

Hazel "Doesn't sound like a bad idea. What the hell I'll do it".

Kashu got everything set up and Hazel stepped inside the cage. Marron sat down and watched as Kashu started up the machine. It looked as if it would work but it died down before teleporting Hazel over.

Marron "Huh… What happened Kashu"?

Kashu "The machine doesn't have enough energy to teleport humans. I figured this would happen, but I needed to test it to make sure. I don't even know where I could get that kind of energy".

Hazel "SOMETIME TODAY, PLEASE". (Still in the cage. She didn't realize it didn't work).

Kashu "Hazel, come on out. It didn't work". (Hazel walks out and to them).

Marron "Wait here I know where I can get some good strong energy".

Kashu "That's great Marron. We will wait here".

Hazel "Hurry back. I don't want to spend all day here".

Marron ran out the lab and to the center of East City where Hercule and Majin Buu were doing a fan meet. She almost made it to the front where they were but got stopped by security. She tried to inform them that she knows Hercule and Majin Buu personally, but the security guard isn't hearing it.

Now she feels she will have to give up and wait in the extra-long line. Just as she was going to walk away Hercule spotted her and informed them that it's okay to let her through. With a bright smile she ran up to Hercule and asked her favor. She tells them she needs some of Majin Buu's energy to help a friend with his invention.

Majin Buu gives Marron what she needs, and she runs back to the lab. Once there Kashu takes the energy and puts it into the machine. He starts everything all over. Everything is looking even better than before until Majin Buu's energy reaches fully inside.

The machine gets a super charge that sends electric lightning all over the lab and they all three disappear from the lab. When it starts getting late their families begin to worry. Krillin and Android 18 go looking for Marron. The first place they head to is Kashu's.

They meet Kashu's aunt on her way out to head towards their place to look for Kashu. Now they are even more worried. Kashu's aunt takes them to his lab and they walk in to no one around. The machine still shooting electric lightning. Krillin and Android 18 dodges the electricity. Android 18 grabs Kashu's aunt and saves her.

They fly out of the lab and look at each other. It's clear that this machine has something to do with Marron and Kashu's disappearance. Before they leave Hazel's, parents show up yelling wanting to know where their daughter is. Her phone's tracker showed this is the last place she was.

Krillin, Android 18, and Kashu's aunt look at each other than Kashu's aunt explained what they just found out. Krillin got between Hazel's parents and Kashu's aunt trying to calm Hazel's parents' down. Android 18 calls Bulma while that is going on.

She turns to them and tells them that she just called Bulma and that she will be arriving soon. Kashu's aunt and Hazel's parents looked surprised to hear that while Krillin looked relieved to hear it. Bulma shows up and has the machine moved back to Casple Corporation.

They follow Bulma to Casple Corporation still shocked that Marron's parents know Dr. Bulma.

Krillin "Can you figure out what happened"?

Bulma "Yes. Give me some time with this machine and I will find something out".

Kashu's aunt "That's great. Thank you so much Dr. Bulma. I need Kashu back; he and I is all each other have".

Bulma "Leave everything to me".

Hazel's mother "None of this would've happened if it wasn't for your nephew anyway".

Hazel's father "I should call my lawyer and sue you for everything you've got".

Bulma "There is no need for that. Accidents happen when you're dealing with inventing. If you're going to be nasty the whole time you can just leave here, and I will call when I find your daughter".

Hazel's parents "Sorry, Dr. Bulma".

Hazel's mother "We're just worried about our little girl".

Android 18 "We're all worried".

Krillin "Which is why we should all comfort each other not hurt one another".

Kashu's aunt "Thank you, all".

Bulma and Dr. Brief got to work right away. It would be a long struggle finding the children. They got teleported so far away. Marron began to wake up; she opened one eye then held the back of her head. She opened her second eye and picked herself up.

She looks around the cave where she sees Hazel and Kashu still passed out. She tries to wake them, but they don't move. To her right is a machine; she walks up to it. It's completely different than the machine Kashu had in his lab. Just before she could touch a thing she hears a noise.

She climbs the pile of large stones behind where Hazel and Kashu are. At the top she could see cages of all sizes as far as she could see. She began to climb down and follow the noise to a smaller cage. Inside is a strange looking turtle (Squirtle) injured and clearly hungry. They look into each other's eyes.
