The North Men of the Divide
Oh, the poor North men of the Divide!
Dead of soul long before they are put to rest,
no pain, no gain, no pleasure, lest,
It is in the name of the divine spirit.
So he must give up his only sin,
which he loved quite so,
as to wish to be a sinner.
To be weak of heart,
to have all his strength fail him
in the wake of one weakness.
To kill his love through brute force,
and slowly rot his heart,
and kill his soul.
For his savior was his captor,
and he prayed for his sin,
starved his soul to save it.
But it was another sin entirely,
which broke his stone resolve,
love for one already loved,
who loved one who was not her lover.
And so it could be said,
that sin saved the soul of Eric Hermannson.
