The basic storyline: a warrior known only in legend approaches Aang and his crew. Now that aang has mastered the elements, can he master the art of war?
"The Champion of the Spirits"
Young voices echo in the deserted halls of the western air temple. They are clear and crisp throughout the canyon where the ancient city hangs. Two boys, neither could be adult stature, practiced bending within the isolated walls. Both had the same knowledge of bending fire, but one was obviously more powerful then the other. Beside the field of their battle, three other children sat idly. There was one boy and girl in water tribe attire and another in green and white, the colors of the earth kingdom.
"Just as Ozai told us," a man whispered to his comrades nearby, "they will be easily captured."
" You ought to listen to orders more often," a more gruff and sturdy voice stated, "our orders are to kill, take no prisoners, for the fire lord wants none of them."

Aang rolls to the side, launching a column of flame at his teacher, Prince Zuko, who blocks the move with much difficulty. But still unharmed, he launches his own attack that is deployed just in time to glace off of the avatar's blast. Zuko lunges to the side, but looks back in defeat at the burn mark on his boot.
" You have me again, avatar Aang. You have officially bested me and graduated from my teachings." Zuko declares, humbled by his defeat
" And it only took you a couple of weeks, Aang" Called Katara, sarcastically from the sidelines.
" Thanks Katara, and thank you master Zuko." Aang said, bowing respectfully to his teacher, " now I have fully mastered fire and I am ready to destroy to fire lord."
" I am glad I could be of good use to you avatar," Zuko smiled at his student, finally seeing the revenge against his father within reach, and peace in sight.
A feathered arrow severed the friendly air as it cut through the air and into the grass beside Aang's feet. All of the children's eyes flashed to a large company of riders bearing down on them from across the field.
Aang froze, never had he seen a company this size and he was frightened. He dropped his staff to the ground in shock, and several more arrows stuck into the ground around them.
Zuko threw fire at the riders and called to Aang, " wake up! Avatar, WAKE UP!"
Aang shook his head, awaking from his spell, "Run," he ordered.
Zuko looked at him, confused, "What?"
"Run, we don't need to fight."
"But we can win."
Aang stared at Zuko with cold eyes as katara, toph and sokka all prepared to fight, totally frightened.
" Fine," he whispered, " Fall back. Back to the temple," Zuko called to the group.
Sokka turned and ran first, followed closely by Toph and Zuko. Katara looked questioningly at Aang , who hung his head and then ran full speed back to the temple
