Moira stiffened slightly as she
exited the hospital. Omi...or was it Bombay...had seemed rather...upset?
Jealous? It was
something to be concerned with, but not at the moment when she had something
else to attend to. Shoving the thoughts to the back of her mind, she walked
quickly back to the safe house to find Crawford waiting with a glare. "Hurry up,
or he'll miss his flight." He didn't have to ask if Joey's things were packed,
he already knew.
I've never felt so all alone…
Moira nodded slightly and slipped upstairs to Joey's room. At least she had most
of the things packed. She threw the final things into the suitcase and walked
into the room where Joey was playing chess, "Joey, put you're coat on, its time
to go."
Joey frowned but did as his mother said. While he put his coat on, Moira put the
chess set away and packed it into his book bag. She handed it to him, "Go
downstairs." She watched him walk off with a less than happy look on his face,
and then walked into the other room to grab the suitcase.
I feel my heart inside me breaking…
Crawford and Joey were waiting by the door when she got down there. No words
were said; they just left the penthouse and rode the elevator down in silence.
They walked quickly to the car and Crawford took the suitcase from her to put in
the trunk while she secured Joey in the back seat.
How long must I endure this pain…
Crawford drove and Moira sat in the front passenger seat. She sat there on
purpose so Joey wouldn't see the quiet tears that were streaming down her face.
Crawford only glanced at her once and said nothing. She just stared straight
ahead at the road in front of them.
And still my spirit goes on aching…
Moira quietly dried her eyes as they neared the airport. Crawford parked the car
in the airport parking garage and they
walked into the airport, checked Joey's suitcase in, and then walked to the gate
that the plane would be departing from.
Joey glanced at the gate then up at his mother and Crawford. His eyes were
filled with a mix of emotions. Moira knelt down and hugged him as boarding was
called for the plane. When she stood up Crawford handed Joey his ticket and
passport. Joey glanced at Moira one more time before turning and walking off.
Oh God please hear my prayer…
Moira and Crawford stood and watched as the plane was loaded, then as it headed
out to the run way. The quiet stream of tears began to stream down Moira's face
as the plane sped up and took off. Crawford let her stand and watch a moment
more before dragging her back to the car to go home.
I need to know that you are there…
Sitting in silence on the way back, Moira began thinking to herself. She decided
she would burry the thoughts upsetting her. If not, Schuldig would pick up on
them and in his condition, he didn't need to be worrying about her. Besides, the
little kitten didn't seem all that happy when he saw her holding his hand in the
hospital. Yes, burring the thoughts and emotions was best for all involved. She
would just put a shield up around them so Schuldig wouldn't pick up on them.
I've never felt so all alone…
