Under thought

Frowning, I watched as Bella used Alice's phone to call off her Saturday plans with Jacob. Alice huffed as she plopped herself between Rosalie and I. I smile softly and stroked her short black hair. "I believe Edward's going a little far with this kidnapping ordeal," I stated placing a DVD back in its case with one hand.

"He's keeping her safe, Esme," Alice protested, crossing her arms over her chest.

"Yes, but Jacob is her friend, Alice. Even if he is a wolf, she should be able to see him while she still can," I stated. Bella had made it very clear to my family and me that she has every intention of becoming a vampire after her upcoming graduation. Unfortunately, this hasn't settled well with my eldest daughter quite yet. Rosalie scowled and quickly got up walking into the kitchen, to fume on her own. I stood to follow as Alice danced over to retrieve the phone from my son's prisoner.

"Rose?" I asked softly as I approached her. She was leaning against the counter staring out of the window over the sink.

"Esme, do you ever wish your human life had ended well? That you'd never become a vampire?"

Her question caught me off guard as I stood beside her. Truthfully I answered, "Yes. I have. But then I wouldn't have the life I do and I wouldn't trade my life with you all and Carlisle for anything."

"Even the ability to have a child?" She asked as I gently rubbed her back.

"Yes," I said softly.

She looked down at her feet. "I would," she replied sadly.

"I know you would. I wish I could reverse the transformation for you. Carlisle's always wished that."

She nodded, "I know. He's always so kind to me, even when I'm cranky."

I couldn't help but chuckle. Cranky could be somewhat of an understatement for my daughter.

"It just….it bothers me that Bella's willing to throw everything she has away. Her friends, her family, her future…She has everything I could ever what and she's just throwing all of it away!" Rosalie exclaimed. "She doesn't understand how much she has."

I nodded softly. "Maybe you should explain that to her. I don't think she's truly thought about everything she's going to lose. All Bella is concerned about is her love for Edward. It will be good for her to see her decision as you see it."

"Stupid and reckless," she replied.

I smiled and stroked Rosalie's long golden locks, "Not thought out enough."

Rosalie smiled a bit and looked up at me. "You're such a mom. But, ok. I think I will talk to her. She at least deserves to know why I think she's being stupid and reckless."

I sighed softly, a smile playing on my lips, "Under thought, dear."

She laughed and kissed my cheek before leaving the room to go upstairs to Edward's room where I heard Bella construct a make-shift bed out of the couch instead of using the bed Edward had purchased. I would have to speak with my son about his kidnapping issue. Either that or ground him. But it's been proven to me over and over with Emmett that grounding a vampire is hardly possible. So, I suppose a talk will have to do. I can only hope he'll take my words to heart and let Bella see Jake. It's the least I can do for Bella after watching Alice torcher her with nail polish, I thought with a smile.
