BEGINNINGS

An Olicity drabble.

Felicity downs her second glass of wine, trying to feel more relaxed than most of the people here at Queen Consolidated's New Years party.

Everyone seems so uptight and uncomfortable, even if there's good wine to help with that.

She attended reluctantly, although she didn't have any other plans for the evening besides a hot date with Ben & Jerry and watching the ball drop on television.

Still, she's dressed in a shimmery, gold dress that falls just above her knees, her curly, blonde hair let down for once, out of its regular ponytail, and her glasses gone from her face. She's not even wearing her signature bright shade of lipstick.

She makes a lot of small talk with many of her co-workers, but she's ultimately bored.

Her friendship with Oliver grew over the past few months, and she was especially shocked in finding out that he was the vigilante.

He sort of forced her to go. He said he'd meet her there.

He still hasn't shown up.

It's ten minutes till midnight until she finds his familiar frame walking through the double doors, a bottle of wine in hand.

Oliver finds her almost immediately and begins walking her way, a smile present on his face.

"Hi," he says.

"Hi," she repeats, "You're really late."

"I know, but I brought you this as an apology." He holds up the glass bottle in his hand.

Her expression changes to contemplation. "I guess I can find it in my heart to forgive you."

"You're too kind," he chuckles lightly.

They end up leaving the entirely too boring party and head to Felicity's apartment, where she's pulling out two wine glasses from her cabinet, and Oliver's opening up the bottle.

Her TV plays quietly in the background as the ten-second countdown begins.

He clinks his glass against hers.

"To new beginnings." Oliver toasts.

Felicity can drink to that.
