I sat in my house. Bored, my town was broken down, barely anyone lived here anymore. There was a recent criminal act; someone killed half the town in less than a month ago. Many people left injured, depressed and dead. It was a very big controversial event for such a small town. All I did was watch My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic, play video games like Pokemon and Animal Crossing. I didn't play violent games anymore, they remind to too much of the shoot-out. Because that's when my Mom's life ended. My dad died when I was 3 months old and my mother was an addicted smoker. When I grew up I moved to the town I'm in now. My mom couldn't pay rent anymore so she decided to live with me. She'd quit smoking but was an alcoholic. She was 53, me being 22. She was 31 when I was born.
Her death wasn't pleasant. On the supermarket footage shown on TV I saw she was exiting when blood splattered on her face. She ducked when she saw the person in front of her had been shot. She was screaming, but that was when the tears rolled down my face. The hole in the back of her head was visible now. I turned off the TV, went to my Panic room and locked the door. I stayed in there for 2 weeks using my supply on water, honey, tomatoes and coconuts. When I came out there was police everywhere. 1 week later they were gone. No one wanted to live here. Me, 2 of friends, the shop owners and workers were only left. 1200 people to 893 from the shoot-out. After the shoot-out 812 moved away. 81 people left.
On my morning stroll I discovered some cracking like sound in the bushes. I went over to discover what it was. It was usually a stray dog or cat, sometimes a rat or possum. I went over to the bush and saw a white cone-like shape. I was shocked and I jumped back. I saw a white face creep over the bush. I couldn't believe it. It was…. A real-life unicorn?! But even more, it was a filly and it was… RARITY!? I wiped my eyes. Still a real life filly Rarity? I approached it with caution and lifted it up. It squirmed and struggled but I kept it tight. I wasn't going to let scientists experiment on this creature or let it die in the woods. I had to keep it.
When I got home (I didn't go to the supermarket as usual.) I plopped the Rarity filly on my living room chair. It looked around then stared at me with confused eyes.
"Hello?" I said, confused.
No reply obviously meant it couldn't talk.
I filled up a bowl of water and put the bowl next to the chair the filly Rarity was on. It jumped down and started lapping up the water like a cat. I was surprised, the filly Rarity must of took caution. Unlike my childhood dogs and cats, when she was drinking she didn't get a splash of water anywhere. I then cut up some asparagus and she ate it. Then something really bad happene I realised I just adopted a fictional unicorn from a television show.
