-Don's POV-

As Jess and I were driving to meet up with Mac and Stell at our favourite restaurant hangout, we had been trying to figure out what they had to announce to us all.

During the slight traffic congestion, Jess looked over at me from the passenger seat with an excited look on her face. "Don, I think I know what the news is about."

I smiled at her, having had an idea myself. "Whatever you're thinking, I think I can guess what is too but let's wait and let them say it."

Jess nodded in agreement and we shared a quick kiss before the cars began moving again and we were on our way.

By the time we got there we saw the rest of our crew had already arrived. As soon as we were seated, Danny blurted out the question we'd all been desperate to ask. "All right, Mac and Stell, what's the big news you couldn't tell us over the phone?"

Stella and Mac were grinning like cats that had eaten a whole cage full of canaries.

"Well, Mac proposed. We're getting married!" Stella answered as she brought up her left hand causing a squeal from the women present.

The rest of the crowd let out a loud cheer and Jess glanced at me in triumph.

"Congratulations, you guys, it's about time!"

Adam hugged both of them with enthusiasm as did Hawkes and Sid. Once the hubbub calmed down and Stella and Mac had both gotten a big hug from Lucy, Mac had another announcement to make.

"Don and Danny, I'd like you to stand with me as my co-best men."

Now that was a shock to me. At first, I had no idea what to say, until I finally thought of something that might do. "We'd be honored to be your co-best men, Mac." Danny just nodded. It was obvious he was kind of overwhelmed by what Mac had asked

Stella then spoke up. "Jess and Lindsay, I want you to stand with me when I marry Mac."

Jess and Lindsay were equally speechless but accepted and both hugged Stella tightly. But that wasn't all. Stella turned to Sid and took hold of his hands. The rest of us stood and watched.

"Sid, you are like a father to me and I would love it if you walked me down the aisle," she said, and I swear I saw tears in Hammerback's eyes.

At first, the guy didn't know what to say but then he found something to say when Stel started to look a little worried. "Stella, I'd be delighted and am honored that you asked me, thank you."

No sooner had Sid accepted then we all heard a little voice pipe up. "Hey, Auntie Stella, Unca' Mac; what about me?"

All of us grinned at three year old Lucy Messer and Mac got up and walked over to where she was sitting on her ma's knee.

"Well little Miss Luce how would you like to be the flower girl and wear a pretty dress and throw flower petals?" Mac asked after ruffling his goddaughter's hair.

Lucy thought about it for only a microsecond and nodded her head enthusiastically. I guess it was the dress that swung it for her.

For the rest of the night, we kind of split into two groups; the women discussed the plans and us guys debated how the current baseball teams were doing. Hey, there was still plenty of time for discussing all that stuff that comes with weddings.

After we all bid each other a good night, Jess and I were in the car on our way home as we were stuck in traffic (again), Jess and I met gazes and I saw a twinkle in her eye and knew that now was good time to ask Jess the 'same question'.
