Chapter 22

Prometheus POV

What am I doing?

I just ran casually into the gods' meeting. Wow, aren't I smart. That's sarcasm by the way for the simple minded people out there. Though really, why are you listening to my thoughts? Is anyone actually listening or am I ranting on for nothing? I'm going insane. Oh, I have to make her stay whatever happens.

"Hello Prometheus where have you been?" Zeus asked me coolly.

"Umm... I got locked out..." I trailed off when I saw his glare. Get a grip Prometheus you're an all powerful titan whose getting nervous at a little look? I thought screamed to myself. But it's a scary look from the king of the gods... a little voice argued back.

"You got locked out? Amphitrite got in fine and now she's taking Athena! But I'm guessing your fine with this as she's taking her to the titans anyway so you'll see Athena whatever happens!" Zeus shouted at me. A hysterical angry King of the gods is not something you want to hear, believe me. To be honest I hadn't thought of that. I would see her anyway. But so would my family, I couldn't give her the torture that is my family. I couldn't.

"Amphitrite had Athena to let her in and umm... Actually I ummm..." I coughed and began again "Actually I was thinking of a sort of compromise."

"What do you mean a compromise?" Amphitrite asked

"A third of the time with the titans-"

"What? Just a third?" Amphitrite screeched

"A third with the gods," I continued "and a third with whomever she chooses, that way her loyalty won't be affected by one side of her family. Does that sound like a good idea Athena?"

Athena looked a bit shocked that I actually asked her or maybe just by the fact I was actually there. "That sounds okay..." She told me hesitantly and she looked at her father and Amphitrite for confirmation.

"That sounds like a good compromise." Zeus said

I looked at Amphitrite for confirmation. She glared at me but grudgingly agreed. "Fine."

"Will that be all?" Zeus asked after a moment of silence while I silently congratulated myself on not starting a war.

"Athena didn't get to start her lesson." I muttered more to myself then to anyone else really but he heard me anyway.

"Athena, you'll go with Prometheus to finish your lesson. Is that okay?" Zeus asked her. Though to be fair it's not as if she gets a real choice.

"Yeah, sure. I guess..." She trailed off.

"Okay, Prometheus will take you to his house and you can start your lesson, okay?"

She nodded and we went.
