One-shot. Optimus is missing, and Ratchet is sad. Set during the Orion Pax part 2 episode.
"You know, there's this thing in gym class where you have to climb a rope."
Ratchet's optics flicked toward the sound of the young human's voice.
"It's really hard, and I've never been able to do it. But when I told Bee about it, he believed in me,"
Ratchet was growing impatient. He forced himself to stay calm.
Rafael continued, "Which made me practice a ton. Finally, just a couple of weeks ago, I made it! All the way To the top!"
Ratchet snapped. He whirled on the small human, yelling, "What does any of this, have to do with gym class?!"
"I..uh..I was just...uh..."
The medic snorted in disgust and turned his back, ending the conversation.
"I'll give you some alone time."
Ratchet barely heeded the hurt tone in the boy's voice. "Optimus..." he whispered, "I am so sorry." He suddenly felt overwhelmed. His emotions engulfed him, and suddenly everything hurt. His knees buckled, and he collapsed against the computer terminal. His shoulders shook, as tears poured from his eyes. "I'm so sorry, Optimus!" he sobbed.
Might be a two-shot. Dunno yet. Signs point to yes, though. Review and I'll write more!
