AN: just silly fluff.

It was a lily. A beautiful white lily, bowing daintily in front of her, its large heavy head bending the thick green stem as if ashamed of how beautiful it was. Ashamed of what it represented.

Lily scowled.

"It's a lily," she said simply, twisting the stem between her fingers so the flower faced away from her, no longer bowing down to her.

"No," James shook his head. "It's not."

A raised eyebrow. A questioning look. "James, this is a lily."

"No," he said again, the corner of his mouth twitching. "It's not."

A long sigh. How often had she put up with James' mad antics? Too often. And now this. The most typical cliché ever. A lily for Lily. Typical.

"You can keep repeating it, but it won't change the fact that this is a lily."

"And you can keep repeating that, but it won't change the fact that it isn't."

"Right."

"Glad we got that sorted."

"James?"

"Lily, do you really believe I am that unimaginative?"

Rolling eyes. James' smirk.

"Honestly, how can you think so low of me?"

"Alright then, what is this?"

"A beautiful red rose."

Lily frowned, staring at the dainty white flower. "A red rose?" she repeated.

"Most definitely."

Lily pursed her scarlet lips. "Well, it's very pretty James, but I think you made a mistake."

"No, no." James grinned. "I was very specific."

Red hair tucked behind her ear. Crimson eyebrows furrowed in confusion. "A red rose?"

"Yes, the most beautiful in the world."

"I don't understand you sometimes," Lily remarked fondly, twisting the lily back around and breathing in its deep aroma.

"It's quite simple. A beautiful red rose for my beautiful red rose."
