The Expert on Ghosts

There are no such things as ghosts. But, somehow, it's pretty easy to think there is. Particularly after the whole vampire holding the city hostage fiasco. But that was all over and done with and there weren't any digimon in their world or any holes for them to jump through…right?

Well, the sky didn't look like it was going to fall down on them so that had to count for something…right?

But it was approaching the third year anniversary which made the timing rather…spooky.

Especially since he knew of one death, digital granted, that had occured that day.

'Mr Ishida?!'

Because Mr Ishida was the expert in these kinds of things. Namely because he'd braved the TV station when it was held hostage. And because both his kids were part of the group that took down the vampire – and fixed the sky. Naturally, most of the world didn't know the identity of those eight kids. But when you worked in the TV station, you knew a bit more than the rest of the world. And when you in the same department as Mr Ishida and you recognised Matt Ishida's dirty-blond hair and a little boy that looked like the one in the photo on that man's desk…well, you knew a little extra.

So you knew he was the best man to go to when suspecting something out of the ordinary.

Except he hasn't seen Gabumon in a while which lowers the chances of it being a digmon involved.

Not that that increases the odds of it being a ghost. But the moaning and groaning and all the tiny odd things do. Because surely anything other than a ghost would be more…destructive. Right?

And though Mr Ishida knows there's no such thing as ghosts, he plops down at his dinner table one evening and tells his sons there's a ghost haunting the TV station. Because even though ghosts don't exist, what else could it be? It's not like vampires exist either.

Though he thinks he should reconsider the digimon involvement when his sons exchange looks. Or maybe that's them jumping to conclusions.

When he catches sight of Patamon, he decides he should definitely reconsider. But by then the ghost's long gone and he never does wind up asking what it was because there's a whole lot of other problems to deal with, most of them being of the digital nature (but there was that boy genius gone missing and showing up again, then a whole bunch of other kidnappings…)
