Hagrid walked into the magical pet store, hoping to find a new pet to call his own. Aragog was marvellous, of course, but Hagrid wanted a pet he could keep in his home with him. He looked around the shop, trying to find the perfect new pet. Dark eyes landed on a Cerberus in the corner of the room.

"How—how much is the Cerberus?" he asked the shopkeeper.

She narrowed her eyes at him. "He costs one hundred galleons, I do not think you can afford him."

Hagrid was already getting the money out of his pocket. "It's done," he said.

One of the faces licked him as he stroked another. "How's Demon?" Hagrid asked. "For a name, I mean."

The three heads barked at the same time, so Hagrid went back to scraping his mind for a suitable name. "Fang?"

This one was also a no, as one of the heads playfully nipped at his fingers. Hagrid rolled his eyes at the Cerberus. "How about Spike?" He ran his hand over the fur on the Cerberus' back.

Hagrid was astonished when the CerbeThe rus turned his back on him. "Buster?" No reply. "Spot? Creature? Menace? Norbert?"

The Cerberus jumped off of the sofa and plodded over to his bowl. Hagrid sighed, but still listed off names, determined to find the perfect one. "Chief? Midnight? Shadow?"

The three heads began to eat very noisily. "Okay, okay, I get it."

The Cerberus stopped eating. "How about Fluffy?"

The small puppy bounded over to him. Hagrid was taken aback when he jumped into his arms. "Really, a guard of Hell likes the name Fluffy?" Hagrid said with a light laugh, scratching one of the head's ears.

Three tongues went to smother him in kisses, and Hagrid could feel himself drowning in a bundle of puppy. "Yes, yes, I love you too."

They were going on a walk around the grounds. It was a Summer holiday, so Hagrid didn't have to worry about any students seeing his gorgeous puppy. Fluffy leapt ahead, leaving Hagrid to follow behind him. Every so often, three heads turned back to look for him, before bouncing off again.

After a while, they stopped at the side of the lake, watching the water flow past. Fluffy snuggled into Hagrid's side, one of his noses pressed against the half-giants elbow joint, sniffing wildly. Hagrid smiled happily. He was glad that he decided to get a new pet. Maybe he would get Fluffy a friend tomorrow.

Getting Fluffy a friend turned out to be a huge success, as the Cerberus loved Fang. They tumbled around on the ground together, Fluffy always having an advantage in the play fighting because he had three heads. Hagrid watched with pride as his new pets rolled around in the grass, barking at each other as if it would never grow old. He didn't understand why people hated dogs. They were so innocent and pure.

Fluffy bounded over to Hagrid and rolled on his back, demanding a tummy rub. All three heads panted with content as Hagrid complied. Fang ran over to them to join in with the happy memories.

They were the only children Hagrid needed.
