This is rough, I realize. I don't particularly approve of older relationships, but I quite like this one, for some reason. So, I hope you guys like it.
Disclaimer: I do not own any of the Make It Or Break It characters, nor the plot.
It was no-one's fault.
It had just happened.
Payson Keeler had fallen in love with Sasha Belov.
So typical of her, to fall for one of the only guys who actually didn't want her.
Or at least couldn't.
Payson was the smart one, the dedicated one, the one who didn't get distracted. An yet, here she was, swooning after her gymnastics coach like some lovesick teenager.
But, all those hours, the quiet admonitions, the heartfelt praise, the gentle guidance...
Somewhere in the middle of that, Sasha had stolen her heart.
When she had fallen, and everyone told her to give up.
He told her to continue.
When she struggled, cried, lashed out at those around her.
He comforted her.
When no-one understood.
He did.
She performed in front of him now, desperately hoping he would approve of her routine. She saw him smiling, noted the way he nodded his head in agreement with the moves she was projecting.
Her turns were perfect, her steps precise, her toes pointed.
Sasha crossed the room, even as the music was still playing, and he stopped her. He made a suggestion, and she nodded. He asked about her knee, she flexed it, showing that she was fine. He asked about her back, looking at her carefully as she replied. She was okay. He touched her lower back softly, and asked again. She nodded once again.
She was fine.
She was perfect.
He nodded, but didn't move his hand from her lower back. Payson stared up at him, unable to move, unable to breathe. His eyes were so deep, locked on hers, as though she was the only person in the entire world.
The trance broke.
Sasha blinked.
Payson almost cried out in frustration as he moved his hand and took a step back. He repeated his initial idea, and then backed away to the sidelines.
Payson was alone on the floor.
She looked over at Sasha.
No, she was never alone.
Please review.
