Ariel made her way to Halloween Town as always.
She gotten used to this new life of her.
She was happier since she was coming here since October.
But, She wanted to ask Jack something.
It was New Year.
She wonder if the holidays worlds did new years.
Before could finish her little walk she heard something crying?
'A baby?'
It wasn't the normal cry of the children here.
She follow the cry till she came upon a baby.
It was wearing something.
"Baby…New Year?"
Ariel panic, how did baby New Year get here?
She couldn't leave it alone.
She didn't have a chose.
Carrying the small child with her to Jack's tower.
When she came up to the top, she saw Jack reading something.
"Umm Jack…we have a problem." Jack heard her voice and look what was in her arms. He look confuse till it hit him.
"Ariel…don't me you-"
"It not like that! I found him. It Baby New Year!"
Jack was speechless. He heard about this little guy, but never seen the child in person.
It couldn't stay here in Halloween Town.
Jack had an idea.
"Let take him to Sandy, he find someone to take care of him."
Ariel smile at his idea.
It wasn't bad at all.
"Alright. Let go."
Jack and Ariel carry small New Year child to Christmas Town.
Ariel didn't him pull her long red hair.
It wasn't a normal pulling out.
She gave it a look telling it to stop it.
But, it didn't work on him.
"Ariel, would like me to take over?"
"No Jack, beside…you might…fall apart or something?"
Ariel sort laugh at her bad joke.
Jack wanted to take over, but Ariel wouldn't let him.
His little princess wanted to do it.
He couldn't say no.
Ariel's hair was hurting like there was someone dancing on it.
She had an awful headache now.
Jack was ahead of her, he look back and could see she was about to faint as always.
"Ariel, you should let me take over."
"I got it-Ow! Stop pulling you little rat!"
Jack couldn't help but laugh.
It was too funny to pass this on.
"Jack, it isn't funny."
"Am sorry…it just, you don't little kids."
Ariel didn't really, she blame her little sister for that.
Her sister would pull her hair till it bleed a bit.
Jack took the child from her and it was asleep.
'How could Jack do that?'
"Am guessing you like them?"
"Well, it how you treat them."
She watch Jack holding it in his arms.
It was cute sleeping, she couldn't do something like that.
They reach Christmas Town finally and Jack gave the New year child to one of the elves.
Ariel look wore out a bit, her arms felt like they were going to drop.
She had a pretty bad headache now.
"Well, shall we go back?" "Oh! Sure…"
Ariel's legs felt like rocks.
She nearly fainted as always.
Jack pick her off the ground.
"Jack! Please don't. I can walk!"
"Right. I can tell you have a headache."
Her face turn red as a rose.
She didn't like Jack carrying her, she like once in a while.
But, she didn't today.
"Just wondering. What are your plans for next year?" He ask her.
She didn't really thought about her plans for the following year.
"Well…I just let the year go as it did like last."
Jack wondered what she meant by that.
"I mean…I don't plan it. I let it decided how it turn my year around. If planned something, I wouldn't meet you."
Jack smile at her.
It was sweet that didn't plan anything.
But she had a good reason why not to.
"Well, happy New Year Ariel Bloom."
"You too Jack Skeleton."
This was something I did on New Years, it a silly and dumb, but it was fun to write.
