Ava: Hi there. This is just an angsty Kagura-centric fic so... yeah.
Larry P: God, could you get any less exciting?
Ava: You, quiet!
Disclaimer: Come on, this is so obvious. Like I am a good enough artist to create the most popular shojo manga in the world.
Kagura tried
She really did try. She told herself that she just wanted to love him, that she was happy for them, that Tohru was her friend and deserved Kyo more than anybody, especially her. Maybe she didn't try hard enough. Maybe she was just selfish. Whatever the reason, she still wanted him. She tried to find new guys, but she didn't feel the same way for them that she had for him. It was as if she was destined to love him forever, the same way he was destined to be with Tohru.
She saw him one day. It had been what you might call a chance encounter at the supermarket. They had bumped into each other and the force knocked Kagura down.
"Watch where you're going you-" She stopped, "Kyo-kun?"
"What's up, Kagura?" Kyo said sheepishly, helping her up.
"Not much. I'm just running some errands. What about you?"
"Um, the same. I'm just getting some stuff for the house."
"Oh."
"Yeah. So, how's your parents?"
"Oh, they're great! Not much to tell, to be honest."
"No news is good news, I guess."
Yeah, totally! And um, how's everybody at the house?"
"They're all good."
"Good. And how are you doing?"
"I'm good. How are you?"
"I'm fine too."
"Good."
"Yeah."
"Well, see you."
"Yeah, bye."
She tried to tell herself that it didn't matter who he was with, that she had never had a chance with him anyway, but she knew that that wasn't true. They had been close, and when they were little, Kyo had been to one who said that they would someday get married. They had gone out. He used to be able to smile at her and mean it.
Kyo and Tohru got married. Kagura cried with the rest of them. It hurt, watching the love of her life marry somebody else.
At the reception, Kagura went outside for some fresh air and saw him. He apparently had needed some fresh air too.
"Hi," Said Kagura.
"Hey," said Kyo. They stood together for a while.
"So, what's it like, being married?" She asked.
"It's... weird. I guess that's because it just happened."
"Yeah, I guess that that makes sense."
"Yeah."
There was an awkward silence for a moment.
"Um-" They both began in unison.
"You go first," Said Kyo.
"No, you."
"No, go ahead."
"Um, okay. I was just thinking no more spur-of-the-moment visits anymore. huh?"
"Yeah. It'll probably be really good for my health."
"That's true," Kagura forced out a laugh.
"So, I guess we should go back in."
"Yeah." Neither of them moved.
"Hey, Kagura?"
"Yes, Kyo-kun?"
"If I told you that I really did like you in the beginning I really did like you, would you believe me?"
"That depends. Would you be telling the truth?"
"Yeah."
"Then yes. Yes I would."
"Good." What Kyo did next was not expected. It shocked Kagura, and it probably shocked Kyo even more.
He hugged her. He held onto her tightly, and she quickly returned the favor. And, much to Kagura's surprise, he didn't seem to want to let go.
Kagura tried to forget him. But she couldn't help but think that maybe, just maybe, Kyo missed her and needed her as much as she missed and needed him.
Ava: And i like tea said let there be sap, and there was sap, and i like tea saw that it was good.
Larry P: Are you comparing yourself to a god you don't believe in again?
Ava: Yes. Yes I am.
Larry P: Pity you're so selfish. You have the perfect look for being Buddha.
Ava: -locks Larry P. in a closet- As always, please review! I hope you enjoyed this! -bows-
