Even though it had only been three years, it seemed like an eternity to Naruto. He had finally returned to his little town after so long, and it seemed like the only people that had changed were his peers whom he had grown up with. Now, it was dark outside as Naruto settled into the bed he had so often slept in those forgotten years. He yawned and switched on the radio, gentle lyrics floating through the room
Just one chance
Just one breath
Just in case there's just one left
Suddenly, Naruto's thoughts turned to Sasuke. He wondered how he was, what Orochimaru had done to him over these last three years, but there was one question that hung heavily on Naruto's mind; Did Sasuke miss him at all?

Sasuke had completed yet another long, rigorous day of training. At this point, he had nearly surpassed Kabuto, which was saying something considering he was Orochimaru's closest 'henchman'. As he walked down the dark corridor to his room, he heard voices speaking from the shadows,
"Did you hear? That Naruto brat is back." Sasuke suddenly tensed at the sound of that name. He entered his room, laying on his bed and switching on the radio
On my knees, I'll ask
Last chance for one last dance
'Cause with you, I'd withstand
All of hell to hold your hand
Sasuke snorted in contempt at this, this crap that people actually considered music was being issued from his radio. But still, he couldn't stop his mind from wandering to that blonde-haired dobe he had been-dare he say it-friends with so long ago. He wondered how much stronger he had become, and actually was a bit eager to test his skills. Sasuke chuckled bitterly to himself; Just like old times.

Sakura was getting ready for bed, and had the radio turned on
'Cause I needed
I need to hear you say
That I love you
I have loved you all along
And I forgive you
For being away for far too long
Sakura smiled faintly as she laid down to go to sleep; This was one of her favorite songs. Tomorrow, she and Naruto would finally go back to Orochimaru's lair to rescue Sasuke. It wasn't so much that Sasuke was with that…thing that had bothered her, it was the expression on Naruto's face when he returned. Though he seemed so happy on the outside, she could obviously tell he had been through a lot of heart ache. It wasn't until their eyes met for the first time in those three years did she realize how deeply Naruto cared for Sasuke, and how he missed him so badly. She thought she had missed Sasuke, but from the look of Naruto it was almost painstakingly obvious to her that there were nights he cried for that raven-haired Uchiha. To Sakura, after all the grief Sasuke had caused Naruto, it puzzled her why he hadn't gotten over him, as she herself did. Pushing these thoughts aside, she soon fell asleep, the song's music fading into the night.
