He liked to watch her when she was watching movies. She sometimes would start to enjoy it so much forget she'd forget he was there. Then, he turned suddenly and she'd jump after seeing him. He loved that. He loved everything about her. Her hair. Her eyes. Just her. She was all he'd ever really wanted. After the Shanshu, he'd gone to her and she became his. In a little church in London. In the eyes of God and the law, she was his.
She looked into his eyes, a blue so bright they could nearly blind her, and she smiled and said "I do." So, now they have a house in the suburbs. It's pretty. Red brick. Sometimes they'll be lying down. Her head on his chest listening to his heartbeat, and she could pretend this was all she wanted, that this heartbeat was the one she was dreaming of. Some days she almost believed it. Most days she knew she was lying.
He'd surprise her by jumping out when she walked into a room. He could always surprise her. Every time. She never even saw it coming. He wished that just once she could know that he was there.
