A/N: For Kirsten (https://www.fanfiction.net/profile.php?userid=497681), for being so wonderfully complimentary and inspirational (I'll find an opening for PeepingTom!Hermione yet!), and for Fliss; who understands the importance of slash and leafy boughs.

Neville never quite understood it, but he always gravitates to the Hufflepuffs. Perhaps because they're the only ones who are *nice*. Everyone else has a distinct nasty bastard streak. The Slytherins, obviously. Ravenclaws: detached observation and analysis that is somehow worse. And the Gryffindors, with their bumbling attempts at kindness just *because*, are worst of all.
The Hufflepuffs don't care. They allow you to fade gently into the background. No one expects you to be brave, cunning or clever. You can just be. Invisible.
And no one suspects when you slip ground glass into Harry's coffee just to *see* if his charmed life really is.
But Neville's a Gryffindor. Everyone knows.
