Here I Am Smiling

Here I am smiling,

In the rain and snow,

I don't seem to care,

When the wind blows,

The frigid air,

And dark cold ground,

It doesn't matter,

From me there's no sound,

If I could run,

I'd run far from here,

To some far far place,

And never come near,

I lost control,

I could not command,

Some insane force,

Was forcing my hand,

They had come near,

But now they're all dead,

Not one of these bodies,

Still has a head,

The snow in which,

I lost control,

Has turned bright red,

Killing my soul,

I stand in place,

I cannot leave,

But I need to get,

The blood off my sleave,

I do not know,

How long I will wait,

Before I can get,

This whole thing straight,

So here I stand,

On the edge of a knife,

With one wrong move,

I could lose my life,

I'd wander around,

With no place to go,

I wish my emotions,

would very soon show,

If they would come,

and break my trance,

It might be saved,

By some odd chance,

But still I am smiling,
