A/N: This came to me as I stepped out of the shower, why, I have no idea. It's a drabble, so it's obviously short, get over it. And no flames please; if you criticize my writing, go and write something that you think is better. Don't waste your time complaining how shitty my writing is.

Sweet Kisses to Heal the Wound

Kakashi was not a careless man.

However, love does funny things that fuck you up in the brain.

Ever since he and his girlfriend moved in together, she was all he could think about. He never expected to fall in love, let alone get a hopeless case of lovesickness. Seeing the normally stoic Copy Ninja act more like a pansy each day scared the shit out of his students and colleagues. Gai even stopped the challenges; He looked away disturbed every time he saw the silver haired ninja come within a 10 foot radius.

He got distracted more easily and that almost killed him on a mission. He stumbled home where she was waiting. He didn't have to go to the hospital, she was after all a medic. A medic who was an apprentice of the sannin Tsunade; he preferred to be healed by her than be poked and prodded in a sterile room that smelled too much of death and sickness.

When he arrived at their apartment she rushed him to the bathroom where she made a fuss over his shoulder wound; the enemy ninja had stabbed him and he didn't see it coming. After sterilizing and wrapping it in a bandage she smiled and said,

"A kiss to make it all better," with that she pressed her lips gently on his shoulder.

He smiled at that, eyes crinkling with happiness that he sometimes felt he didn't deserve. He was lucky to have her, he always thought she was too good for him, but she proved him wrong the day she kissed him through the mask after she treated his wounds at the hospital.

The next day they both left for separate missions; they kissed goodbye and left the mission room. She didn't return home from the mission on time. She finally came home a week later.

Her body was put in the morgue.

At her funeral he stood in the back, not wanting to be seen or to hear the sympathetic whispers. After the final person left muttering about how you should always make sure the ninja you're treating is actually an ally, not an enemy that would stab you when your back is turned, literally, Kakashi walked up to her tombstone that bore her name.

Shizune

The warm May wind blew scattered leaves on the ground into the air. He stared aimlessly at the sky to say a final message: to Shizune or God, it didn't matter.

"A kiss can't make this better."

The End

A/N: Kakashi is one of my favorite male characters, and yet I'm putting him through such torture. O.o
