Of course it was to good to be true. The seven had done it. Percy and Annabeth had made it out of Tartarus. And they had closed the doors of death. Everything was looking up. Leo was laughing and cracking jokes, Jason and piper seemed happier than ever. Frank had turned into a horse so he and hazel could ride back to the Argo II. Percy and Jason had both wanted to go back but to avoid the argument Annabeth suggested that Frank and Hazel went instead.
All of a sudden the 5 demigods heard a scream. They went sprinting in the direction it came from.
Frank stood their to stunned to do anything, while Hazel was curled up crying over what looked like a faun, no a satyr. Piper went running forward followed closely by Annabeth. Coach Hedge laid still lifeless. His eyes fluttered and e turned his head to Annabeth,
"All right beauty queen, could you leave us please, and send Jackson over so I can attack him one last time."
Piper silently got up and walked over to Percy. Percy jogged over he had. His face was grey and his expression concerned. No of the group liked this it put them on edge.
"Right then you two cupcakes," the coach tried to smile but he was in too much pain.
"Coach you've be shot, lay still Jason will fetch some ambrosia and nectar." Annabeth had tears, she knew it was too late to do anything but she didn't want to believe it.
"Nah, I'm a tough old goat. I'll be fine, but I need you two to do me a small favour."
"Anything" it was the first time Percy had spoken since they left the temple.
"Tell my son, his old papa goat is proud of him."
"We'll tell him as soon as he's born."
"No I have another son, Percy I know your good friends with him,
I'm glad he has friends like you two." Percy looked towards Coach, confused
"Coach what are on about?" Annabeth was about as confused as Percy,
"Do I have to spell it out for you cupcakes! Grover Underwood."
"That's impossible," Annabeth blurted "Grover's Father went missing searching for Pan."
"No, that's what I told him. I never got my searchers license. I was worried I wouldn't be a good enough father, so I left him and his mother." The coach was watering up. "Just tell him I'm proud, ok? Swear it on the river Styx Jackson!"
Percy locked eyes with Coach Hedge.
"I swear on the river Styx. You did us proud coach."
And with that Coach Hedge closed his eyes, a smile on his lips.
For a few seconds everyone was silent. Jason came running out with the ambrosia, he was just a few seconds too late.
The feels I had writing this. Still teary eyed. Please leave a review
