Batman was Gotham City's dark knight and Selene was the world's most heroic, but dangerous vampire. Despite how different they were, they both had a similar goal, of bringing safety and justice to the world. Because of that, they had decided to team-up and become a crime fighting duo. They were set on bringing down the vampire army, which was led by the evil businessman\vampire leader, Viktor.
Selene and Batman to Jayson Cosmetics, one of Viktor's rival's companies. Viktor hired his henchmen to break into the building, steal the products he could use, and destroy everything else.
Batman looked at Selene and said, "I'll go in first. Count to ninety. After that, come in and surprise them."
Selene replied, "Okie dokie."
Batman had no need to use a door or break a window. He used his utility-belt's magic to teleport there.
A trio of thugs, named Heath, Liam, and Cillian, looked up and saw the new superhero. Liam asked, "Who the heck is that?"
Heath looked at him and said, "He is beautiful, but I don't know him."
Cillian smirked and replied, "It could be Catwoman's new boyfriend." Batman cringed at the thought of that. Cillian said, "Actually, that guy's too bleak to understand anything, other than edgy angst."
Batman sternly said, "I'm Batman. Surrender or face justice." Heath shot a hole in his cape. Batman was hardly annoyed, because he had the magic to fix that.
Batman used his ninja skills to sneak around. The three thugs tried to find him, while feeling anxious. He jumped out of the shadows and blasted Liam across the room.
Heath grabbed a giant chair, broke it in half, and threw both pieces at Batman's head.
Batman touched his head, while saying, "You gave me two headaches."
Heath asked, "So, are you scared?"
Batman shook his head and confidently said, "You're going down." Heath grabbed another chair, but he used his ninja sword to break it into dozens of pieces. He blasted Heath to the ground.
Cillian grabbed a crowbar, but Batman blasted it. The crowbar evaporated. Batman kicked Cillian across the room.
Selene walked in. Batman looked at her and said, "You took over ninety seconds to come in."
Selene replied, "I'm sorry. I'm infamous for being a slow counter. What happened?"
Batman said, "I beat up three thugs."
Selene asked, "Are there any more thugs?" A dozen of Viktor's thugs burst in.
Batman said, "Viktor has an endless amount of these guys."
Selene asked, "What should we do?"
Batman said, "We're ninjas, bats, and superheroes. There's no way that goons could be a threat to us, even if there's a dozen of them." The goons pointed guns at them.
Selene nervously asked, "Are we doomed?"
Batman said, "Yeah right." He walked closer to them and said, "Gentlemen, I disapprove of guns." He used his utility-belt to melt the guns.
The goons were shocked. However, they still planned on having a fight. They were about to punch Batman and Selene. Selene started biting them. Batman punched and kicked the goons. One of the goons punched Batman, to the ground.
Selene stopped blasting the goons and ran up to her partner. She nervously asked, "Are you okay?"
Batman said, "I guess."
Selene helped him stand up and said, "We gotta keep fighting."
Batman replied, "Sounds good."
Selene blasted five henchmen and Batman zapped a couple. The dozen goons were defeated, but another dozen broke in. Selene was surprised, but Batman was expecting Viktor to be overly prepared. The goons gave the two heroes a decent fight, but their impressive fighting skills was nothing compared to Batman and Selene's magical determination to save the day.
After the fight was over, Selene said, "Well, we beat up over twenty goons. I think that's a pretty good way to start a superhero career."
Batman replied, "You did such an awesome job."
Selene said, "We both did."
Batman shook his head and replied, "No, you're the real hero. I'm basically a sidekick."
Selene said, "No, you're my equal." Batman smiled at her.
Selene finished sending the police a text and said, "The police will pick up the goons."
The two heroes went outside and saw another vigilante, Michael Corvin. Michael walked up to them and said, "Greetings bats. Who are you?"
Selene said, "I'm Selene." She pointed to Batman and said, "This is my partner, Batman." Michael rolled his eyes, because of their corny names. He was pretty hypocritical, considering what his name was.
Batman said, "We're the new superheroes. We defeated Viktor's goons."
Michael was surprised, but in a good way. He said, "Excellent work. I'll take care of the finishing touch." He turned on a bomb.
Selene asked, "What are you up to?"
Michael said, "I'm going to blow up the building, with the goons inside of it." Selene used her magic to melt the bomb. Michael angrily asked, "What the heck is wrong with you?"
Batman pointed to him and said, "You're the crazy one."
Michael sounded offended, while asking, "What do you mean?"
Selene said, "You almost blew up twenty seven goons."
Michael coldly asked, "Who cares?"
Batman said, "Those goons have families, so people do care. Criminals deserve a second chance. You've robbing them of their potential for growth. You don't care about redemption. You care about wiping crime away, even if it means committing the crime of eliminating others."
Bleakness replied, "Redemption is a stupid concept."
Selene said, "Your method of crime fighting seems even stupider."
Michael was about to punch her, but Selene stopped him and said, "Cut it out. You're supposed to be a superhero, but you act like an edgy, angst-loving freak."
Michael asked, "A freak? You just fought two dozens freakish goons and you think I'm the freak?"
Selene answered, "More or less."
Michael said, "You don't understand what being a superhero is about." He started heading into the shadows.
Selene looked up and said, "You're the one who doesn't understand the rules of being a superhero."
One of Viktor's male assistants reported to his office, to tell him about the company robbery. Viktor was a balding businessman, who wore a black business suit. He was one of the most feared businessmen in all of America. Viktor looked up at his assistant and said, "Tell me what happened."
The assistant nervously replied, "The robbery was not a success."
Viktor punched his desk and asked, "What do you mean?"
The assistant started sweating, while saying, "A superhero outburst beat up all of your goons."
Viktor angrily said, "That Michael guy is ruining all of my plans."
The assistant replied, "Michael isn't the one who beat up your goons."
Viktor asked, "Who did?" The assistant was sweating so much, that his shirt started getting wet. Viktor turned on the TV and said, "I'm sure this story is on the news and I'm sure the news reporter will explain what's happening, with more dignity."
A female news reporter said, "The police arrested over two dozen goons. However, the infamous Michael Corvin, had no involvement in this. The goons were foiled by two new heroes\vampires, Batman and Selene."
Viktor glared at the TV and asked, "Selene? That's the dumbest name ever."
The assistant asked, "Didn't you say that Michael Corvin was the dumbest name?"
Viktor put his hand on his chin and said, "Michael Corvin is the stupidest male name ever and Selene's the dumbest female name ever."
The reporter handed Selene a microphone. Selene said, "Our goal is to spread a more morally responsible type of justice. We're hoping that we can inspire people to help others, instead of beating them up."
Batman said, "Things have been bleak for too long. Let's give out sunshine."
Viktor smashed his TV and threw it out the window. He looked at his assistant and said, "Those new superheroes ruined one of my biggest schemes. Because of them, my competitors are safe. That isn't okay. Have the place robbed again, but bring more goons."
The assistant asked, "How many?"
Viktor said, "Two hundred."
The assistant had a shocked look on his face, while asking, "Two hundred?"
Viktor explained, "A hundred for each superhero." He put his hand on his chin and said, "Michael Corvin might come, so get three hundred goons."
The next evening, Batman and Selene went back to the business building, from last night. The goons hadn't arrived yet, but the two superheroes were already waiting. Selene asked, "How come we have to come early?"
Batman said, "If we came here, after the goons started robbing the place, we might not get there in time. They could get the chance to rob everything and break the building apart."
Selene replied, "But they could be robbing a different place."
Batman said, "I have a strong feeling about them robbing this place, again."
Selene had an amused look on her face, while asking, "You're listening to a feeling for guessing what the goons will do?"
Batman replied, "It's more than a feeling. It's a strong hunch." Selene rolled her eyes. Batman rolled his own eyes. Selene jokingly frowned at him, so Batman did the same thing. The two stopped their silliness and gave each other a hug.
A few minutes later, a bunch of trucks started showing up. Batman pointed to the trucks and said, "There's so many trucks, which means that there's going to be tons of goons. There could be a hundred."
Selene replied, "Yeah right."
Batman asked, "Why do you think there would be less?"
Selene said, "There's probably so many trucks, because the goons have too big of an ego, to ride together. They probably all ride in a separate truck, so they can show off their expensive ways of transport. Guys are obsessed with cars."
Batman replied, "Some guys are, but not all of them. It's more of a stereotype, sort of like how girls used to be stereotyped as doll loving and not real fighters."
Selene threw a doll in the garbage can and responded, "Let's prove those stereotypes wrong." The two superheroes high-fived each other.
Over one hundred more goons walked in. Some of them started packing up the building's merchandise, while the others started cornering the two heroes. Batman said, "It seems like there's three hundred goons."
Selene asked, "Do you think we have what it takes?"
Batman patted his partner's shoulder and said, "We may be overly ambitious, but we're not quitters. Justice is the biggest thing that always has and will stay around. Let's prove that to these silly goons."
Selene smirked and replied, "They don't seem very silly. They look overly serious, one-dimensional goons."
The goons started punching and kicking the two heroes. Batman blasted twenty goons, at once. The goons were surprised by how awesome he was. Selene blasted five goons, at once. Selene sighed and said, "You are the superior superhero."
While blasting a bunch of goons, Batman replied, "We're equals. We always have been and always will be." Selene smiled at him. She knew that she wasn't as powerful as her partner, but Batman always knew how to make her feel important.
Selene blasted thirty more goons. The goons got blasted across the room and passed out. Batman smiled at her and they high-fived each other. They knew Viktor would eventually send more goons, but they also knew they'd be ready to bring justice to the world, forever.
