High up in the tallest tower of the palace stood the last pocket of resistance to the evil that had invaded their peaceful kingdom of Enchancia. It wasn't as if it was a massive army with a tyrannical ruler, no it had to be a fucking sorcerer that decide he was done playing second fiddle to royalty. The asshole even took a page from Shuriki the bitch who took over Avalor over two score years ago and made an enchanted painting of three members of the royal family. Only this time it was King Roland, Queen Miranda and Prince James. Princess Sofia stood with her back straight looking at the unfortunate fate of her family, holding a golden-hair cat, whom according to Sofia use to be Princess Amber.

The royal Sorcerer had to chuckle at the irony of that, seeing how some years ago Sofia had told him about how Amber had wished her father was Allergic to Sofia and it turned her into a cat. The princess had even told him about the wishing well on the castle grounds. Back when he was trying to take over the kingdom he had considered it for all of two seconds before discounting it. Whishes tended to turn over on themselves and twisted what you wish for; the most innocent of wishes managed to twist into something cruel. After all, magic, all magic, came at a price.

"Mister Cedric, I want you to leave to find a way to save our kingdom," Came the soft voice of the teenage princess, at Seventeen she was a beauty to behold her waist long chestnut hair fell in soft waves framing her heart-shaped face. Cedric walked over to her.

"Princess are you sure that I am the best choice for this task?" Cedric asked the grey section of his hair falling in front of his face. Sofia raised a hand to his chin forcing him to look at her.

"You are the only one I trust with this task," Sofia paused, closed her eyes and turned her face away from him while she strengthened her resolve, sighing she continued. "I plan on summiting to him to protect the people, and I NEED you to take my family far away from here.'
She turned back to the painting of her parents and brother, gently she touched the face of her mother. Sofia turned from the canvas and put the cat she was holding on a chair.

"I don't like the Idea of leaving you here alone with him, but if you so wish it, I will take the other members of the royal family to my parents. After which I will go to Avalor and beyond to find a way to help you save the kingdom." Cedric complied, it was a big task the princess was asking of him, while he had gained more confidence still wasn't sure if he was ready. While he watched Sofia as she took off the Amulet of Avalor, she placed it on his worktable and cast the duplication spell. Then she performed another spell that if Cedric remembered right caused an item only to be moved or taken by the person who put it there.

"You don't know this yet, but I was talking to my parents about the man I wanted to marry. Being the peasant-born stepdaughter of the king made my claim to the throne is tenuous at best, so I thought there would be no harm in marrying the man I love. Mother was in support of it the whole time while Father was still on the fence about it. Considering the man I want is older than me and not royalty." Sofia's cobalt blue eyes looked at him while she smiled a sad smile, "I know you must be confused right now, after all, I keep very little about my life away from you. I never spoke to you about loving someone." Turning away from him she grabbed the Amulet and put it back on; Holding the other necklace, she glided back over to him and put the necklace on him. "It was hard to talk to you about it for you are the one I love. Now remember every action, for better for worst, there will be a blessing or curse." Sofia looked at him one last time, while he was still in shock, and left the room shutting the door behind her.
