A Father's Unknown Love

Pt. 1
The police had gotten the call. Yelling was heard, and then screams. Electric balls and fireballs were seen breaking through windows, walls and the roof. That was normal for them; everyone knew since 2015, 11 years ago, that the Halliwells fought magically for Good. Then the Halliwell house had exploded and no one knew how. The police went to see if they could help. But it was too late.
Chief Inspector Morris was on the job. He'd known the Halliwell sisters for a very long time, having been the first mortal to know of their secret and having kept it for them, and helped them out for more than ten years. He had hoped that the sisters and their families were alright, but the minute that he saw the house he knew they weren't, there was no possible way that anyone survived that. There was no house. There was nothing but rubble and debris, and fire here and there.
The police closed off the site, and Morris stepped inside what had once been the front door and looked down. There at his feet were the burned bodies of Penny, Patricia, and Prue, the teenage daughters of Phoebe, ages 19, 17, and 15 respectively. They had been trying to escape. Escape from what? Morris did not know. The bodies of Paige's boys, Josiah, Jonathon, and Jeremy, ages 14, 16, and 18 respectively were found by the back door, also trying to escape. Coop, their father, Kyle the girls' father were both found torn apart upstairs. There had been some sort of battle, but with whom?
Morris found what was left of the bodies of Phoebe and Paige on the attic stairs. Horrified by what he had seen so far, he nearly choked with grief. Catching his breath, he pressed on, knowing that two more members of the family were unaccounted for, Piper, and her youngest, a 13 year-old-daughter, by the name of Ciardra. Leo, Piper's ex-husband and a High Elder was in Elder-land training their oldest child, Wyatt, who was nearly 28. As for Chris, the middle child of 26 years, he had disappeared 6 years ago.
Carefully Morris stepped over the bodies and into the attic. The only thing left standing was the stand that the Book of Shadows was on, and evidently, Piper Halliwell defended with her life. Then she groaned. Morris ran to her. She looked up to see him. "Darryl," she strained to say, her eyes pleading. "Ciardra … with… Sara … Melinda… Mall… Chris back… evil…protect Ciardra… protect Book of Shadows…" With that, her broken body gave out and died. He felt in vain for a pulse. There was none. Shaking, he nodded to the men with him to begin clean-up. Stepping forward, he gently placed his hands on the Book… nothing. He picked it up and carried it downstairs and out the door. He knew what he had to do.
