Julius and Rosemary
Place: Somewhere in North America
Time: Around the year 2050
Who: Julius and Rosemary
Love. Love was a ridiculous thing. An insane emotion. And Julius loved it. All he could think of as he climbed stealthily through Rosemary's backyard was of her. The task of climbing onto her third-story balcony didn't look as daunting as it would have on a normal basis. This was his angel, his Rosemary, and he needed to see her. Walls couldn't hold him back.
He grabbed onto the railing and began hauling himself up. He couldn't help but think that this would have been easier before 2025, the year when single-family homes were outlawed in order to save land. But he hadn't even been alive then. He had, however been lucky enough to live on the first story of his building; a thing that came in handy when sneaking out… or in.
Just as he got onto the fire escape of the balcony that he knew belonged to his wonderful Rosemary, he heard a voice. The melodic, murmuring voice of an angel. He stood outside her window, looking through the gap in her curtains to see her more clearly.
"Julius, oh Julius, why won't you ask me out already?!" She shouted to no one in particular. "I know that your family doesn't support the world government while mine does but why should that stop us?" Rosemary groaned dramatically. "It's not any of our business what our rents decide to argue about!"
Julius almost wanted to chuckle, it was all so true. What he had failed to notice, however, was how heavily he was leaning on the window. Just as Rosemary finished her little rant the window gave out, throwing Julius onto the floor at Rosemary's feet. She quickly stood and sucked in a sharp breath to scream. Before she had the chance, Julius looked up into her eyes, showing that he was the one she wanted to see so badly.
"Oh" She whispered, all her air coming out in a whoosh.
"Rosemary, will you marry me?" Julius asked earnestly, looking like a lost puppy.
For a moment it was silent. "Well, I don't know! You can't ask me now! Marriage is four year commitment, you can't expect me to just decide on a whim! Just because you heard me whining to myself!" She whisper-shouted.
Though he was heartbroken, Julius would give Rosemary anything. "Alright then, I'll leave. For now, but you must promise me that you'll think about it." He pled.
"I promise, now go." Rosemary said, somehow managing to sound resolute and disappointed all at once. And with that, Julius stole back out of her window; sad by her words but elated at seeing her none the less.
A/N: Yeah, I know this is stupid. But I wrote it for school and it seemed like a waste to just let it rot away on my computer. Review and I'll give you oatmeal. (Yeah I have no idea why I want you to review this piece of shadoobie but I guess it's just a reflex)
Paz,
Lacey =)
