Surrounded By Hate

Day had dawned. It was the seventh day. Everything was lost but they would not surrender. Voldemort's army would come as soon as it was light. In the distance the screams could still be heard. Harry Potter, the Boy Who Lived, had fallen by the fourth day and Albus Dumbeldore, Hogwarts' illustrious headmaster, was no more.
Here on the roof of the infamous Astronomy Tower, two men waited, two men waitied for death. They sat there. Sirius looked at Remus. Lupin had a stoic grin on his face and suddenly averted his gaze towards Sirius. They shared a look of understanding. Soon the enemy would march down the broad halls and they would meet the merciless wands of the Death Eaters. Sirius felt lonely. He didn't want to die. He unsuccessfully fought back the tears. Lupin noticed his comrade sobbing and moved towards him. Words weren't needed. War could do this to the best of them.
Gently, as not to startle him, he placed a hand upon his shoulder. Sirius lifted his gaze and blue eyes locked with brown. Sirius felt something heavy in the pit of his stomach, he knew Lupin felt it too. He noticed the palms of his hands getting sweaty. Remus' head moved towards his and suddenly he felt two suprisingly soft lips upon his own. Strange, he thought, but this is very enjoyable and although he knew he shouldn't, he started to move his lips against those of the bulky man. Lupin responded eagerly and just as passionately.
They were found locked in each others arms the following morning. Murdered. Who ever knew love could grow, surrounded by hate?
