Dumbledore Bad

Albus Dumbledore is extremely manipulative. He is said to be nearly omniscient, yet he makes careless 'mistakes'.

In the very beginning of the Harry Potter series, Dumbledore leaves Harry with the Dursleys. Surely he would have been aware of the fact that the Dursleys hated magic, and anything or anyone to do with it. Even Professor McGonagall was against placing Harry there. Because of the 'mistake' of leaving Harry with the Dursleys, Harry's bedroom for the first ten years he lived there was a cupboard. He was neglected, and mentally abused there. Surely the 'blood wards' around the Dursley's home would have alerted him of this. With all of that information, I would say that Dumbledore knowingly placed Harry in an abusive home.

In his first year at Hogwarts, the Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher was Professor Quirrell, who was possessed by Voldemort.

Okay, first of all, Dumbledore had the Sorcerer's Stone there in Hogwarts. After battling Voldemort for so long, surely he would recognize his magical signature, and if not, then the presence of dark magic surrounding Quirrell. That being said, if the Sorceror's Stone is at Hogwarts, and Voldemort is at Hogwarts, and Dumbledore knows about both, what does that say about him?

Second, the protections for the Sorcerer's Stone were extremely weak if Harry, Ron, and Hermione could get past them. If first years could get past them, so could Voldemort. Dumbledore would have had to have known that.

So, basically, Dumbledore knew that Voldemort was at Hogwarts for the Stone, and that the protections for said Stone were extremely weak. Can you say "setup"? If the protections were weak enough for first years, Dumbledore would have known. So Dumbledore just let three first years go up against Voldemort on purpose. Niiice.

In his second year, the Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher was Professor Lockhart. Dumbledore knows LegilimencyHe could have used that ability to make sure that Lockhart was both a competent teacher and was not a threat to the school. So, Dumbledore knowingly placed a useless DADA teacher in that position.

After the Dueling Club incident (where Harry's Parseltongue ability is discovered), Dumbledore is already aware of the Chamber of Secrets being opened. Okay, one of the portraits heard Harry, Ron, and Hermione discussing the voice Harry heard. The portraits are loyal to Dumbledore, and would have told him this information. Even if Dumbledore didn't figure out the creature then, when he asks Harry if there is 'anything he wishes to tell him', Harry looks Dumbledore in the eye and says no. Eyes Legilimency. Dumbledore would have found out, and from there should have figured out that a Basilisk was doing it. From there, he should have remembered that the Chamber of Secrets was opened when Myrtle died, gone to that bathroom, and have Harry open the Chamber for him. (He should have then proceeded to stun Harry so that Harry wouldn't try to play 'hero'.) He would then have been able to kill the Basilisk. No more basilisk no more petrifying.

With Voldemort's diary and Ginny: again, Legilimency. And sensing dark magic/the Horcrux.

So once again, Dumbledore disregards the safety of his students.

A/N: I'm a debater, and I was bored so I did this. This will be continued in a later chapters, since I'm too lazy to finish it now.
