The Way It Should Be

Temperance Brennan had always found that noise particularly annoying at wedding's. The groom stood, shoved his tongue into his wife's mouth, yadda yadda, yadda. She liked the different version where each table would stand and sing a song with love in the title. Some people should sit down before they opened their mouths but overall the singing wasn't too hideous. Two years ago, she was at a wedding where the men at a table sung Love me Do by the Beatles and were quite entertaining.

Is that noise ever going to stop? It is border line insane

No sooner had she said it and it stopped. She noticed Seeley Booth; the best man was no longer sitting but standing, looking down at her.

"What?" she mouthed to him.

He smiled and nodded his head for her too stand.

How could I be so dense, of course, it is our turn to make a toast to Angela and Jack

She slowly pushed her chair back careful not to catch her floor length dress under the legs. As she reached for her glass of champagne to start the toast, she felt two large hands cup her cheeks, and then a handsome face lean towards her. In an instant, his lips were on hers pressing softly. Her champagne glass still in her hand. The heat emitting from his lips was intense.

What the heck is he doing?

Then a micro second later she felt his lips press harder on hers, where they lingered for a good three or four seconds. The tenderness in her lips caused his body to flood with sensations similar to those of flood waters breaking a damn.

Tongue kiss the maid of honour. Those words rushed through his brain as he felt the beginning stages of arousal set in. It wasn't supposed to be like this. In and out. Quickly.

He opened his mouth slowly like the water flowing through the gates of a controlled damn, and pressed his tongue between her lips. Instinctively she opened her lips just as the gates of a damn under control would. His tongue met hers with the arousals now running through both their bodies like the waters through the flood gates.

People are watching us. I can't do this much longer. Well, I could, I am sure they will get bored of us and move on.

Her mouth was intoxicating; the lingering tastes of champagne and strawberries alerting his taste buds.

He tightened his grasp on her face as he swirled his tongue around softly in her mouth, getting everything he possibly could out of the moment.

He parted their lips and was startled to see her eyes were still closed and that she still had her champagne glass in her hand.

It took her a few seconds to regain her thoughts. She put her glass down, carefully sat down on her chair and Seeley reached over to help her push it in.

"Thanks."

"You're welcome."

"Why did you kiss me?"

"Jack told me to whenever the guests tapped their glasses."

"Oh."

That's good enough reason for me. She resumed eating her meal. Why aren't these people tapping their glasses? I miss that sound. Never thought I would say that but then I hadn't been kissed by Seeley Booth before.
