Prologue

4th July 1881

Perros Churchyard, France

Christine crept through the graveyard, dying with nerves and excitement as she made her way to her father's mausoleum where he was entombed with his sacred violin. She knew the angel had promised that if she stood by him and proved Raoul was no more than an old friend he would play 'the Resurrection of Lazarus' to her on her beloved father's violin, promising a performance of such beautiful skill and love that everything would be worth it.

Her dark cloak trembled over her thin body as she tucked as stray curl of long blonde hair behind her ear. Everything would be worth it, she told herself; the betrayal of Raoul and her heartbreak over him. It all wouldn't matter after tonight, he angel playing a piece from the heavens.

Daddy Daaé's tomb had come into sight and she heard the sweet sounds of a violin playing an A flat minor scale with such skill and expertise it made the scale sound like a piece of art.

Christine threw off her cloak and opened her soft cherry lips wide open to let the sweet music from her mouth.

"Angel of music I have come.

Please you must keep your promise"

She listened for his angelic voice, closing her wide crystal blue eyes waiting in fear, trembling at the thought of the power, which swept over her whenever she heard his voice.

Soon enough it came and she felt her knees wobble as they attempted to keep her standing as the powerful melodious notes of his voice swept intensely over her thin body, nearly knocking her to the ground.

"Sweet dear one you have been faithful;

I shall keep my promise as you have kept yours…"

His voice was powerful yet loving and warm; how could this be any other being but an angel?

The clock struck midnight and Mademoiselle Daaé was then knocked off her feet as the piece of music came; The Resurrection of Lazarus.

Christine spread her arms out by her side in utter ecstasy, unable to control herself when this divine angel played for her. The girl closed her eyes and lost all possible restrain as her long blonde curls swept through the wind as if the wind itself was the music, swirling around her petite body.

Music played by an Angel.
