(A/N: This was written because I realized that I have stories about Leah without Jacob, but no Jacob without Leah. So I wrote something for him. It was really hard to not mention Leah in here, and you can tell exactly where I wanted to mention Leah, but didn't. There is a hidden blackwater reference in here, though. And one more thing to add to this extremely long author's note: I'm going out of town and I won't be back until Thursday, so if suddenly you're not getting emails about new stories from me, don't worry. Enjoy!)

Go Jump off a Cliff

The thing Jacob liked most about cliff diving was that it made him forget.

When he cliff dove, the only things that mattered were the air surrounding him, the water below him, and himself.

When he cliff dove, he didn't belong to anyone. Not Bella, the girl he loved, not Sam, his alpha, not anyone else. For those few precious seconds, Jacob could belong to himself and no one else.

When he cliff dove, the only moment he needed was now. He didn't need his memories of the past or his ideas of the future. All he needed was the present.

The thing Jacob liked most about cliff diving was that it made him forget.

But he couldn't forget forever.
