Adulteress
By Scarlet Starlet of the Wind
The mob surrounded me,
And Jesus on the ground drawing,
Holding giant stones in their hands,
Why did I do this?
I was raised in a home where it wasn't allowed,
I was a devout Jew, and I don't know why I had to do this,
Now this is my fate,
Slowly pleasure gives way to pain...
The man Jesus, will he throw the first stone,
At a heartless woman, dying and alone?
I wouldn't blame him if He did,
I deserve it, for my sin.
"Let the man without sin throw the first stone," He says,
Then I hear the stones falling, plop, on the ground.
I look around and what do I see?
With compassion, Jesus stands over me.
"Has any of them condemned you?" He helps me up, and I reply, "No."
"Then go and sin no more."
I can't help but look at the angry mob of diciples,
And then in His compassionate eyes.
I think he read my eyes when I signaled, "Thank you,"
And departed from the scene,
The compassionate eyes of the Lord,
Were wrapped around me.
