Very short story I'll get round to making a longer one with chapters :D
But for now enjoy!
The Doctor was twisting with controls and flipping switches when Rose walked in slowly. He turned around and beamed at her. She was holding something behind her back. He looked at her confused wondering what she could be holding there. She was smiling in an evil sort of way, the Doctor was puzzled. Then slowly but definitely she pulled out the object from behind her back and the Doctor's smile faded away.
"I was just walking to the control room when from the corner of my eye I saw this" She indicated at the object, "in your room." Rose then smiled even though the Doctor looked grimly at the guitar Rose was holding.
"C-can you play i-it?" Rose asked pushing the guitar forward to him. Suddenly the smile reappeared on his face.
"PLAY IT? PLAY IT? Why of course I can play it Rose. Anyone can play a guitar." He boomed happily. Rose frowned at him.
"I can't play it." She said not understanding. "Rose, anyone can play a guitar" He pointed out again, "I think you mean can I use it?" He said and Rose sighed.
"Yeah whatever, can you use it?" She asked rolling her eyes. "YES! I CAN USE ROSE!" He boomed again joyfully and he took the guitar from Rose's hands. He played a cheerful tune on the instrument and Rose smiled as his skilful hands roamed around the strings and played numerous chords. When he had finished he received and huge applaud from Rose.
"Thank you thank you, my lovely fans I love you all." He bowed and blew kisses as if an audience was in front of him. "Anything you want me to play madam." He offered and Rose rushed off to get her iPod. Soon enough she had returned and pointed at a song on it. The Doctor listened to it and played a few strings trying to learn the song. Finally he had got it and he ushered Rose over.
"OK! So I managed to learn the song and I can hook up the iPod to the TARDIS so you can hear the song." He said grinning and Rose nodded. The Doctor gave the guitar to Rose to hold while he buzzed around the console hooking the iPod up. Finally he was ready to perform.
"Ladies and gentlemen I am going to play a Rose Tyler favourite called The Funeral by Band of Horses." He announced. As soon as Rose hit the play button the Doctor played in time to the song and it sounded quite beautiful. His mind was buzzing remembering each and every note and chord. His hands zoomed around the guitar in time to the rhythm. His fingers held down the strings so his other hand that held the pick could play it. When the song ended a tear slipped from Rose's eye. She applauded.
"That song reminds me of my dad." She said. The Doctor walked over to her and wiped the tear away then kissed her softly on the cheek. Rose started to blush and the Doctor winked at her.
He asked Rose to take the guitar back to his room and Rose did so. As soon as Rose had gone a tear slipped from the Doctor's eye. For the beautiful song he played. For the people he once knew. For the world he once lost...
