To begin with, let me tell you all that I have seen not a single episode of Once Upon A Time. I just have read a lot of fanfictions about this. So even though I am not qualified enough to write a fic about this fandom, I decided to go forward and write this nonetheless.

You might find that this story is based in no particular time and people might behave a bit differently than people would expect them to. But I did mange to capture the personalities as best as I could. Hope that will be okay.

Oh and this particular piece of story was originally a request I sent to Stessa but I decided to go forward and write it myself.

Enjoy!

Chapter 1:

Every Waking Moment

Viridian eyes opened to the sound of birds chirping and a faint ray of light drifting in through the gaps in the curtains on the window. Emma groaned and rubbed her eyes trying to blink out the blurriness of her vision. Did these birds have nothing to do other than to make noise and wake her up early in the morning?

She groaned once again, just for the heck of it and patted her soft pillow and tried to bury herself in soft, silky, most comfortable bed she had ever slept in. Wait! Soft, silky and most comfortable bed? Where in the world was she?

Emma slowly opened her eyes, not wanting to take everything in all at once. Judging by how well rested her body felt, she could tell that there was only one possibility where she could be. Not the one to beat around the bush, Emma opened her eyes all at once and took in the dark-purple walls of the bedroom. There were flowers decorated on the wall in a very intricate pattern and she was sure that just the curtains on the window costed more than her monthly paycheck. To sum it all up, there were many framed photographs of Henry all over the walls. God, she was screwed. She was in Regina Mills' bedroom.

Heart beating loudly, Emma slowly turned back to come face to face with the said woman. Though fortunately, the woman was fast asleep. Emma's heart began beating furiously, if that was even possible. She was in Regina Mills' bedroom and in Regina's bed. They obviously were not touching at all but Emma could feel that it was not right. She was in the Sanctum Sanctorum of Regina's house, the one place where she was not allowed, she was sure of.

Emma decided to just run the hell away as fast as she could. She could not let Regina see her beside her and she could not let Regina see that she had seen her. It was not as if she could actually see anything, Regina was well dressed in her nightclothes. Who knew that Regina even owned a pair of nice pajamas? But no matter how much she tried, Emma could not will herself to leave the bed. Regina Mills was lying beside her asleep and heavens, what a wonderful sight that was.

Rid of all makeup and hair mussed with sleep, Regina was even more beautiful than Emma had ever seen her and the scar on her lips! Man, Emma just wanted to kiss it. Wait! Kiss it? Where did that even come from?

However, in the time Emma was deciding what to do and what not to, brown orbs opened taking in everything at once. For a strange moment, Regina's eyes landed on Emma and the blond could swear that was a shy smile on Regina's lips but it went out as soon as it came.

Touching or not, Emma was so close that she could clearly read every single emotion that passed on Regina's face. (She was always quite adept at reading Regina's eyes.) The first thing was confusion, then it turned to panic which quickly gave way to irritation and then settled on anger.

Before Emma could understand what had happened, she found herself lying on the floor, a deep throbbing sensation shooting through her back. Somehow, Regina had pushed her away magically off the bed. It was fortunate that Regina was half sleep-addled and decided to only push her out of the bed and not actually throw her off the balcony or through the walls or worse, set her on fire.

Relief quickly transformed into irritation and she stood up, not actually caring that she was half-naked and flashing Regina her body.

"What the hell, Regina?" Emma snapped in an irritated tone, "Why would you do that?"

Regina instantly covered herself up with the blanket and Emma thought it was ridiculous. It was Emma herself who should have hiding her body, wearing a see-through tank top and a red underwear that should have been considered too inappropriate. Moreover, it was not like Regina needed to cover herself up. She was freakishly gorgeous and perfect even without any makeup.

"What are you doing here, Miss Swan?" Regina asked in an angry whisper.

Emma suddenly came to her senses, "I don't know." She said scratching her head. "I just woke up myself."

Regina blushed when she saw what Emma was wearing and the blond could not help but feel proud, though however, that was not the time for all of this thoughts to go through her head.

"I don't remember anything." Emma said. She dreaded asking the next question but she had to ask, "Did we sleep together?"

Regina's mouth hung open in horror and for one glorious moment, she was completely floored. However, she soon got her bearing back and said in a haughty voice, "Don't be so obtuse, Miss Swan. We did nothing of that kind."

Emma pointed a single finger at her body and asked irritably, "Then how do you explain me being here?"

Before Regina could give a reply to Emma, there was a loud knock on the door and without waiting for a reply, Henry barged in, "Mom, have you seen my…"

Both Emma and Regina were startled and turned towards the door. Regina covered herself more with her blanket so that only her face was poking out but poor Emma who was so startled could not even move.

Henry's eyes went towards his blond mother, "Ma, what are you doing here?"

Emma chuckled nervously and said in a fumbling voice, "Kid, your mother and I…"

Henry covered his ears looking horrorstruck, "Ew! Don't tell me. I don't want to know."

Regina tried saying something that would not scar her child for life, "Henry…"

"NO." Henry said and ran out of the room closing the door behind him with a loud bang.

Regina flinched. "Miss Swan." She said irritated. "Now you have scarred Henry for life. My son will think that we are having some sordid affair and sleeping together in secret."

"Hey, I didn't do anything." Emma said sheepishly.

Regina retorted in the same voice, "If you did not do anything then how come you are here standing naked in my bedroom and not yours?"

Emma had nothing to say except, "I am not completely naked."

Regina scowled at her, "Do you always wear this kind of clothes when my son is staying with you? Who knows what kind of things you are teaching him?"

"Hey." Emma complained, "Don't put this all on me. I did not know that I will wake here. By the way can you explain me why am I here?"

"What's there to explain?" Regina asked in a haughty voice, "You being utterly incapable to control your own magic is the reason why you are here. About that, why are you here? Why not at your parents or the station?" the brunette asked in a suspicious voice.

"I was not thinking about you if that is what you are trying to say." Emma said red in the face.

Regina scowled at Emma and shook her head at her, "Alright! Fun time's over. Now go back to your own house."

Emma looked at the woman like she had lost her mind, "And how do you propose I do that? I am not entirely presentable as you just pointed out. What if somebody sees me coming out of your house half-naked?"

Regina scowled at Emma for one long moment and then got off her bed and went into her closet. Few minutes later, she returned with one of her shirts and a skirt that would come to just above her knees.

She handed the clothes to Emma and said, "Now change into these and take your clothes along with you."

Emma looked at Regina strangely, "In front of you?" She asked when she noticed that Regina was not looking away.

Regina blushed and pointed Emma towards the bathroom.

Emma changed as fast as she could with Regina standing just outside the door and it was not long before she was taking her leave from the house.

ooo

The rest of the day, by no means went any different for Emma. She lounged in the station all day doing paper works and eating bear claws and shooting waste paper balls in the trashcan. She only had to leave the station only once and that too was to save Mrs. Smith's kitten who had climbed very high up on her tree.

However, her mind was anything but blank that day. The only question going through her head was how in the world she managed to wake up in Regina's bedroom. As far as she could remember, she had not had any alcohol the last day and did not try doing any magic before going to sleep. She was so tired that she had just fallen on her bed and the next thing she knew was that she was waking up in Regina's bedroom. But the most important thing was that she was not even thinking about Regina or having any dream about her. Regina was far from her mind the last night, so that could not explain her being in the Mayor's room.

"Emma!" The blond was startled when she heard the loud noise beside her. She looked to her left and saw Ruby, her deputy looking at her with a concerned expression on her face.

"Huh?" She managed to say as eloquently as she could.

"Where are you?" Ruby asked peering down at her. "I have been calling you for the last five minutes."

Emma shook her head, "Nothing. I just…" She did not finish her sentence.

"What? Are you okay?" Ruby asked coming closer to her.

"I'm okay." Emma waved her hand, "I just was thinking about something."

"What is it?" Who's on your mind?" Ruby asked prying for information.

"Why do you think it's a person?" Emma asked looking at her friend suspiciously.

"Come on, Emma." Ruby chided. "I have never seen you lose all your focus even once. I can surely bet that is what happens when somebody falls in love." Ruby sang the last few words of her sentence.

Emma laughed nervously, "Come on, Ruby! It's nothing like that."

Ruby opened her mouth to say something but stopped and then came even closer to the blond and without warning sniffed her.

Emma pushed the wolf away from her, "What are you doing?" She said grossed.

"I knew it." Ruby shouted in joy. "You are seeing somebody. There is no way that you could be drenched in somebody else's smell so potently with just a simple contact."

"You're kidding." Emma said nervously. How would she explain her friend that the Mayor had offered her own clothes for her to wear!

"Dog nose, remember?" Ruby pointed at her nose, "And I can tell that precious smell belongs to our precious Mayor." She once again sang her words jumping out of the way when Emma tried to swat her.

Emma closed her eyes and then opened them again, "You're right. It's Regina's smell."

Ruby whooped loudly. "I knew it. I always suspected that you and our Mayor had something going on. All those fighting and bickering. It had to be something."

"We have nothing going on." Emma denied vehemently. "I just woke up in her bedroom."

"Wow." Ruby's eyes were wide, "You are that far into?"

"Ruby." Emma chided. "I literally woke up in her bedroom today. I don't know how."

"What?" Ruby asked confusion evident on her face.

And so, Emma told her the whole story of what happened and how. By the time Emma had finished her tale, Ruby was howling with laughter and could not control the tears in her eyes.

"That's it? Ruby asked between chuckles, "You woke up in her bed without doing anything and she sent you out with her clothes?" Then she dissolved once again into laughter.

"Laugh all you want." Emma grumbled.

Ruby stopped laughing and put her hand on Emma's shoulder. "I am sorry Emma but you've got to see that it's hilarious."

"No, it's not. It's embarrassing." Emma said pouting.

"Well, you can see it this way. Keep it up and you will have Regina sleeping with you every day." Ruby said and tried to run away but this time could not escape the swat that landed on her backside.

ooo

Meanwhile, Regina was not having any progress in a similar circumstance.

"Henry, I told you that your Mother and I are not together." Regina said pinching the bridge of her nose and shaking her head at her son.

"Then why was she here in your bedroom this morning?" Henry asked his mother looking up at her with wide eyes, curiosity evident in them.

"I don't know, Henry. I am wondering the same thing. Who knows what Miss Swan does and why?" Regina said trying to put all the blame on the blonde.

"No." Henry said shaking his head, "I saw you two talking and then she told that you and her were with each other. I also saw her going out of the house with your clothes. You never do that for anybody Mom."

Regina groaned shaking her head. Her son was now making wild stories. The blonde never told him that they were together. Granted she was not exactly articulate in saying what she meant to say but Henry was going off board.

But before Regina could say anything, her son interrupted her, "I have never seen anybody whom you ever invited in your bedroom. But you did that to her. And…and also you are spending most of your time with her telling me that you need to go talk to her about something regarding to her job and you come home late and she is spending most of her days here at Mansion, Mom. I am sure that you are in love with her and not telling me."

Regina groaned once again, closing her eyes. She could not honestly decide if she preferred her son who accused her of trying to harm his birth mother or this one who was making stories about her being in love with his other mother.

"Henry, sweetheart," Regina stopped her child before he could pass out speaking without breathing, "I am not in love with your mother. Her magic is acting strangely causing her to teleport her in my bedroom."

Henry looked at her with hurt eyes, "You are lying. Why don't you tell me the truth? You are in love with Ma. Now she can live here with us and we can be together as a family and you can have your happily ever after.

Regina's heart filled with more love for her son when she heard him telling her that. She wanted to have her happily ever after and she had it. She had her son back with her who loved her and she needed nothing more.

"Oh Henry," Regina hugged her son close to her, "You are my happily ever after. And no matter if Miss Swan lives here or not, we will always love you and we will be a family. Never doubt that."

"But don't you want her here with you? So that we can live together?" Henry asked her with pouting eyes.

"Sweetheart," Regina said, "Miss Swan has her own home that is her own and she loves. It's not nice to ask somebody to leave their home and come into yours, okay. You should respect that."

"But…"

Regina stopped Henry before he could carry on with this new fantasy of his, "No Henry. You will not talk to Miss Swan about this. We each have our own life and we all love you very much but we can love you without living together, okay?" Henry nodded his head dejectedly but said nothing.

When she went to sleep that night, Regina had no idea what would happen the next morning and how much truth her son's words had in them.

ooo

Emma once again woke up to a super-comfortable bed and a faint ray of sunlight coming in through the window. Moreover, there was that faint sound of sparrows chirping in the background. She groaned and covered her eyes, not bothering to look where she was. She knew that she was once again in Regina's bedroom. How did that happen once again was way beyond her thinking capabilities. And that early in the morning without a cup of coffee and a few helpings of bacon sandwich, she did not want to think of it.

Emma turned her head towards her right where she knew that Regina was sleeping and opened her eyes. And to much of her fascination, Regina was indeed sleeping there with a soft smile on her face. She sure looked a couple of years younger and relaxed when there was no burden on her shoulders. Without her glasses, Regina's face looked blurry but Emma had no doubt that Regina was sleeping calmly.

However, the first question to drift into her mind was how she managed to wake up before Regina did. She was not at all a morning person but she sure was getting up before Regina did. Maybe it was the fact that she was not sleeping into her bed playing a big role into this matter.

Emma sat up and instinctively reached towards the nightstand for her glasses. It did not occur to her until the moment she had put them on that her glasses should not have been there on Regina's nightstand. It was one thing for her to poof over at Regina's accidently but for her glasses to do the same was a matter altogether different.

Before she could get lost in her musing, Emma heard the sound of Regina waking up and then a groan when the brunette must have seen her sitting her beside her on her bed.

"Not again." Emma heard the tell-tale sign of Regina's voice full of annoyance.

Emma decided that talking before Regina was the way to go save herself in this situation.

"Hey, don't put this on me. I know that my magic have been wonky pretty lately and I should have been paying more attention and practicing things more often but this is not under my control. What happened to me when I sleep is not something I think about or control." Emma stopped speaking when she saw the irritation on Regina's face.

"Miss Swan." Regina said in an irritated voice, "Please do shut up. I don't need this so early in the morning." And then to Emma's astonishment gave a huge yawn.

The blonde could not help but keep her eyes on the Mayor. Emma, in all her life had never seen the put-together woman do something as mundane as yawning. Yes, there were times when she had seen the woman at her worst but even in Neverland Regina managed to look impeccable.

"What?" Emma's trance was broken when she heard the voice, "Is there something on my face?"

"No…no…" Emma stammered, "It's just… you look tired." She finished lamely.

"It's because I am tired Miss Swan." Regina muttered without any bite to her voice, "Please do see yourself out and let me sleep." She said and yawned once again.

Emma got out of the cover and was pleasantly surprised to see that the Mayor was unabashedly looking at her body or in simpler words, checking her out.

"What?" She asked when Regina did not take her eyes off her body after some while.

Regina looked startled for a tiny second but soon got her bearing back. "Do you always dress this inappropriately when Henry is at your house?"

"Why do you ask?" Emma asked turning towards the woman still sitting on her bed.

"Miss Swan," Regina said in a voice full of distaste. "You should notice that Henry is a growing boy and dressing this way is not going to teach him anything good." She looked disgusted with whatever she was thinking.

"Well it's a good thing that I don't have to worry about it then," Emma said grinning, "I have you to teach him all those things." Emma said taking out Regina's pants from her wardrobe and putting them on. If the woman had allowed her to wear her clothes for one day, she sure would allow her to do it that day too.

Regina looked floundered after Emma's comment. She honestly had no idea what to say in response. As Emma was getting dressed, the door opened and came in Regina's sister.

Emma turned back to look at the intruder with only a red bra covering her top. "Does nobody in your house has the decency to knock?" She asked Regina whose gaze was locked in a staring competition with her sister.

Zelena was carrying her daughter on her chest who had a thumb in her mouth and resting her head on her mother's neck. The redhead looked startled for a few seconds and then a wicked grin covered her whole face.

She slowly turned to her right so that Robyn was looking at her aunt. "Look darling, aunt Regina and Emma totally did the thing. Now it won't be long that you have a baby cousin to play with." She said in a voice full of conspiracy.

"Zelena." Both Regina and Emma said in a disapproving voice.

"Is this a thing to teach your daughter?" Regina asked embarrassed and with a voice full of disdain. "She is only a year old."

Zelena started cackling in her signature Wicked Witch voice. "What?" She asked feigning innocence, "What will I tell her when she asks how her little cousin was born?"

"Nobody is getting born." Emma said with a huff, "Nobody did nothing and nothing is happening and even it if was, it is none of your business."

"Emma!" Regina shouted outraged and Emma could only focus on the thing that her name falling out of Regina's mouth sounded hot. "What do you mean, even if it was? Nothing's happening."

"Yeah?" Zelena asked with a challenging voice, "Then what is she doing in your bedroom of all places with her clothes off? Care to tell me?"

Neither Regina nor Emma could speak. Zelena's grin drew devilish when none of the other woman could give her any answer.

"Come on baby, we'll leave your aunts at it." Zelena said when she failed to get a response. We're going to cook you something to eat." And with that she went out, closing the door behind her.

"Real smooth Miss Swan." Regina said glowering at Emma.

"I am sorry, Regina. I was not thinking and I spoke…" she lamely trailed off.

Regina just raised a single eyebrow as if asking, are you kidding?

After Emma was dressed and was opening the door to Regina's room, she heard the brunette say, "Clear your schedule for the evening Miss Swan. You're meeting me at three."

"What for?" Emma asked confused.

"I am going to teach you how to control your magic." Regina said looking at her as if Emma was a science experiment. "Heaven knows that you have forgotten most of what I told you."

Emma nodded her head and groaned inwardly. Magic lessons with Regina was not going to be a good affair if she could not control her poofing into Regina's bedroom.

She nodded once more and carefully closed the door and went to her own house.

ooooooo

As it has become a norm for my stories, it started out as a One-shot but turned into something more. I don't promise that this story will go anywhere near a full-length novel but I will try to make it as long as possible.

I have no fixed schedule for updating, so the next chapter may arrive any day. My holidays have started and thus I will try to write as many chapters as I can. Hopefully I will update my other stories too.

Over and out.
