Hi there Merlin fans, hope you guys like this one as well as the other ones 'two world's together' and 'memories and secrets' And so there is no confusion, in this little story of mine Merlin told Morgana about his magic when she discovered that she had magic as well, so he's kind of helping her with that, and I guess it would be set around season 3 or so, because I love our Merlin being The Last Dragon Lord, just clearing up some confusion before it begins. Happy reading to ya. :-D :-)
The meeting in the forest.
Rays of sunlight filtered through the trees penetrating through the leaves and casting an unearthly green–gold luminescence over the ground. They were in varying shades of green some were still budding, emerging a fresh, limey color into the summer, whilst the grown, flatly panned leaves were brushed a lush emerald under the overhead sun.
The soft crunch of them on the ground made her feel wistful and free. They were a faded, shredded tapestry of autumn, she thought.
She remembered how they'd danced back at home, how they pirouetted from the naked trees in a shower of color, bringing a warmth to her heart. The trees were ancient, timeless as they disappeared into the sky, rough with age, yet their roughness had been worn down by the soft greenness of moss that had slowly made their home here.
The sweet scent of forest flowers, speckling the ground in bells of white and sprigs of lavender filled her nostrils.
She loved it, she loved how she could hear birds twittering chirping and calling in distant melodies to their kin. A faint rustling could be heard as small rodents scampered through the foliage, though it was drowned out by the greater rustling of the leaves in the gentle breeze.
Here she could hear the crisp snap of dry twigs underneath her boots and the flapping of wings.
Amatory felt at home in forest's, more then anywhere else, she felt one with the ancient souls that sleep within. In the far distance Amatory could make out the faint line of Camelot, where she is headed.
She patted her horse as she continued to walked through the forest. Yes, she loved forest's, there was just something so calming about them. And If she concentrated hard enough, she could have swore she can feel the very life that besides here. When Amatory got closer to Camelot, her heart started to pound.
She stopped. Her father's words of protest echoing in her head.
"Now now Amatory" she chastised herself "don't be like that"
She looked at her horse, Silver Moon.
She named her horse Silver Moon because of her color, as Gray as the moonlight. Her mane and tail was as black as night.
"Come, Silver, let's go" she mounted Silver, and headed to her destination.
oOo
Merlin had a busy day, all he wanted was to go to his room, and go to sleep, but Merlin had one final thing to do before he could slip into the world of dreams. Earlier in the day he forgot to collect herbs that Gaius asked for. Arthur had him running around in circles. Polishing his armor, cleaning his chambers, watering and feeding his horses, preparing his bath, bringing him his food, he swears Arthur can do nothing by himself.
Though, Merlin did use magic for most of it, but still.
The sun was starting to sit, giving the forest a eerily glow. In a nearby tree a owl who'd softly.
He was about done when movement caught his eye, at closer inspection, he realized it was a woman.
"Hi there" she smiled. "It is a lovely evening is it not?"
When she walked closer his breath hitched.
Merlin was blindsided by her dazzling smile, but that wasn't all that was stunning about the young woman. For a moment he forgot he had the ability to speak.
The woman wore armor that glinted in the setting sun. Her Long hair that was precisely the color of a moonless night, was tied back with a royal purple ribbon. But that wasn't the reason his breath was stolen. It was the woman's eyes. They almost glinted silver in the setting sun, they were the color of ice, they were breathtaking. And the confidence he saw within them made him slightly nervous.
And not only her eyes but the woman herself, she could rival Morgana. In fact, this young woman was even more beautiful and dazzling then Morgana, though, Merlin would never tell her that of course.
"Are you alright?" Asked the young woman, moving closer to place her hand on his forehead. "You look a little flushed"
The woman's voice was almost hypnotic, smooth as a trickling river.
He laughed nervously "What? Oh, no" he cleared his throat. "Im- uh- um- I'm fine"
The young woman smiled again, then removed her hand "good"
But she still remained at the uncomfortably close distance. With her this close he could see the color of her eyes clearly. They were such a pale of blue, they almost look see through, like glass. And with her long black hair made them even more noticeable.
"So are what you here doing?"
She frowned. "Sorry, but I'm afraid I didn't catch that, you see, unfortunately I don't speak gibberish"
"So- sorry- what- I mean- i- I"
She giggled. "Do you usually stutter?"
"No not usually, oh, no I mean. ."
Merlin felt like a fool. He could just imagine Arthur laughing at him.
"I'm Merlin" he managed to choke out.
She smiled. "Merlin, good to know" she mounted her horse "let us meet again, Merlin"
He stood as she road off in the direction of Camelot, a little confused.
"What just happened?" He wondered aloud.
-oOo-
Amatory scrolled through the castle like she owned it. She had been told she has an air of confidence around her that makes others move out of her way. And that is precisely what happened when she walked through the castle to the throne room, where king Uthur was waiting to see her. But having confidence doesn't settle the nervousness that settled in the pit of her stomach. Amatory could count herself lucky getting a audience with the king of Camelot at all. And her father said that it would be difficult, in fact it was rather easy.
But for what she wanted was no easy feat, and she knew that, she was still prepared to go as far as she needed to. All eyes were on her when she entered in the throne room, where the king and his son was waiting for her. The king was satting in his throne, his son stood behind his leaning against it. A woman sat and the throne next to the king.
All that could be heard was her footsteps echoing as she walked, with her head held high, her back straight, allowing the confidence to surround her. Amatory saw out of the corner of her eye the boy she met in the forest earlier in the evening standing beside an elderly man. She vaguely recalled the boys name, Merlin, if memory serves her right.
She thought Merlin quite charming, and adorable. But that wasn't the only reason that intrigued her about the boy. At the moment her fascination of the boy puzzled her. But she had other things to concentrate at this moment in time.
When Amatory reached the king and Prince she bowed her head slightly, then met King Uther's gaze.
"What is the meaning of this?" Uther's voice boomed. "I was told a Knight of a nay bird kingdom was coming, not a woman"
A little insulted she decided to correct this immediately. "I am the Knight that you were told of" she said.
Uther's expression was priceless, it took all that Amatory had not to burst out laughing right on the spot. The king looked so confused as if he couldn't comprehend a thought a woman could become a Knight.
"I am in my kingdom" she added with a grin.
This was fun. Uther looked as if he was going to faint from the news.
'How pathetic'. She thought.
"You are an Knight of you're kingdom?" Asked Arthur, as if, he too, cannot comprehend the thought.
"Yes, I believe I had already clarified that"
"That would mean-"
"Yes, I am Amatory, the only daughter of King Sai of Camet"
"If you are who you say you are, then you well not mind if you show me proof" Said Uther, giving her a suspicious look.
Amatory expected as much, so of course she came prepared. She reached in her carrying bag and brought out her certificate of nobility and handed it to the king to expect it.
He accepted it from her windley. She was amused. "Send this to The Record Keeper" he told one of his guards. He hurried to do his task.
Uther and hers eyes met once again. She took an instant dislike to this man, but she knew if she allowed her temper to get the best of her all that she desired would be tossed out the open door to blow freely away on the wind.
"May I ask why are you here?" Asked Arthur.
Amatory smiled, what she was about to say next she knew would probably give the king a heart attack.
"I came to become a Knight of Camelot"
